I saw an Alanis Morisette Video on TV earlier - Ironic - and in this video there is a car, what is it?

I can only find an internal picture of it.

Oval opera window. Gotta be FoMoCo.

Looks like a 2-door.

Either a T-bird or a Mark IV.

I thought that

I also thought it MAY be a dodge, i remember the outside styling, the front was very square, i dont know about the back. It was a coupe, yes.

Were they fitted to any of FoMoCo's sedans?

Elvis

I think there was a Continental 4-door with opera windows, But I'm not sure.

Maybe I'm thinking early 80's Town Car?

I~LUV~Caddys8792

Yeah the 1980-83 Lincoln Mark VI was a Coupe and a sedan.

Here it is

Looks good, which is novel for a car of the early 80s!

How odd that I was just listening to "Ironic" when I stumbled across this thread. And for years I also wondered what kind of car she was in.

Indeed, how ironic, and i have wondered since that video was released, i always thought it was a Dodge because of the vents, im not even sure why i thought dodge, but hey, now i know its a Lincoln, and I WANT ONE

That is definitely a '76 or '77 Lincoln Mark series. I worked at a FLM dealer in 1976, and as much as I love my Cadillac, that mile long hood and narrow window line on the Marks was about as sexy as American car design ever got. The 460 V-8 was a silky smooth and hushed torque monster, and the dash lit up in the sweetest green you've ever seen. They ride like a cloud.

Here's a couple of quotes for Lincoln salesman from 30 years ago.

Salesman #1

"The only car you can get in, drive 100 miles, and feel better when you get there than when you left."

Salesman #2
"If you can't get laid in this, you're probably gay.":banana:http://http://automotivemileposts.com/files/mark41976cinnamongoldmoondustrear.jpg

The Mark V is fun!
Its fun to drive somehting with a 6 foot long hood, with a 460cid V8, with all that torque, and its very comfortable, and extravagant interior also makes it fun!

Im nto sure she'd see it that way

She wants her sports car.

Possibilities have moved over to Porsche now....

I~LUV~Caddys8792
12-18-05, 12:00 PM
Well Porsches are cool too, in a very different way :)
What kind does she want? I like the 996 911's and the 928's

I~LUV~Caddys8792
12-18-05, 12:00 PM
you could always tell her that the Mark V is the sportiest Lincoln in 1977 ;)

mccombie_5
12-18-05, 12:08 PM
She'd make a remark like, "yes and you were the sportiest man i knew in 1977 but look what happened"

The Porsche she liked is the 1998 Carrera 4 (996)
