Sup to one, and all.

I found you guys thru a google search for Caddy forums. I need a place to learn from, that way I can get to know my 'Lac.

I previously owned a premo condition blue '84 Seville, and an '83 Seville.

'lac, as a nickname for your Cadillac motor car was voted as unacceptable in a recent poll.

Welcome anyway!

Lac could be used as part of the name, like "mad'lac". But just "lac" is not acceptable.

huh? Wha? did someone mentioned my name? I agree though. You can't just use plain ol 'lac. Gotta have something with it like my nick.

It's not like you'll go to jail or anything. :p We just generally like to see "Caddy" instead of "Lac". That's all... We don't want people to fear us like the I.R.S. now.. ;)

Wes, speaking of GTP's....
There were a couple at Englishtown last weekend that were running REAL nice. Those cars can be made to be VERY fast VERY easily ;)

elwesso
03-15-03, 11:05 AM
They are pretty fast to begin with, and can be made really fast with little effort. I have driven the GT (no super) and i would only get the GTP. It is amazing how much the supercharger adds. The only thing i dont like is it is so torquey and light that the slighest push on the accelerator it peels.

I have the same problem with one of my "extra" cars here. It's a Sentra SE-R Spec-V. the damn thing's so torquey that it's actually very hard to launch without spinning. And torque-steer in 1st and 2nd is a bitch. Makes it real hard to control at low speeds under heavy throttle.

elwesso
03-15-03, 11:14 AM
Spinning is a problem for me, but torque-steer is not too bad.

Your Q is RWD, so i would hope torque steer is not too bad...you shouldnt have any at all.

I was talking about my GTP. The Q is perfect for hard acceleration. Although, 1st gear is really low, so it doesnt take off well, but once it gets past 3000rpm its great. No burn outs for me :(

I heard that the mid 1980's 4.5? had a bearing problem and sometimes had to be rebuilt, is this your engine, any trouble?

I have no idea, that's why I'm hear to learn more about this car, and the engine.

I know the previous owner has a rebuilt engine put in back in '97. Also I am the second owner. the guy that owned it was an old man, and he took immaculate care of it. He gave me a folder with all the reciepts for all work done, including all tire purchases, oil changes, tuneups, and all the other stuff that need to be fixed.
