I see that there are several variances in the GM number but just the few basic FCC numbers, which seem to correlate with the different years of models.

Do I need both numbers to match or just the FCC number?

Take the inside panel off the door ( you're gonna do this anyway if you buy custom solenoids). Spray the links and solenoid with Krown or any other similar rustproofing. Even if you're in cold weather this should make them work a lot better. But I have had to change the solenoid in my wife's Windstar door lock. They just seemed to get weak. (partial short in the electrical coil of the solenoid?)
