That body style of the Oldsmobile Toronado and Toronado Trofeo went from 1990-92 ... we previously owned a maroon red 1991 version.

TVR: there may not be much booty but it still counts!

That is nice Jim!

Thanks. I've only driven it twice in the past 10 years. Last time was just last weekend. I don't know why, but my dad showed up with it and said "Take Devin (my son) for a ride". After we sorted out some issues with the big Holley carb I took him for a spin 'round the block. It was really a surreal experience for me. My earliest memories as a child are riding in the back of that car (no seats, nevermind 'baby' seats or seat belts). They say your sense of smell brings back the strongest memories and when I got into the driver's seat I took a whiff and wanted to curl up in the back and go for a ride instead. I remember how the sun used to get magnified through that curved glass. But I strapped in my son and drove. It's so primitive that it's a blast to drive. The throws on the Hurst 4-speed are impossibly long and the steering wheel is so big it's like piloting a bus. But the 327 has a mean growl to it that lets you know the car also has a dark side.

Wow, only driven it twice?

I agree it must have been strange

My dad recently bought a Bentley he had when I was a kid.

It was interesting to say the least. A 1956 S1 Continental Coupe.

It belonged to his boss back then, he drove it for nearly 10 years. The guy was very well off,
and owned the delivery firm he worked for. It was a take home car, my dad drove it around
as his own until he had to work, the boss chose not to drive himself and his wife couldnt, so it was our family car.

He saw it in an auction, and had some money set aside for his retirement, and he had nothing to spend it on, so
he got this, he wont tell me how much it cost, but i know it wasnt cheap. It needs some work, mainly to the engine,
it runs VERY rough but the body and interior are as they were when he last saw it 39 years ago

Its very similar to the photos posted below, silver with a red leather interior.

It brings memories back from when I was a kid.

It's too hard to pick between all these beautiful back ends. If you force me- 1959 Caddy folowed closely the Bentley Continental GT.

Wow I can't believe no one's posted a pic of a mechanic's ass crack.... I commend all of you for not being corny. Anyway here's my choices.

80's RWD (My lovely love)
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y250/DopeStar156/1989%20Fleetwood%20Brougham/caddysunset2.jpg

79 Coupe de Ville, No sedans because the roof line looks bad, The coupes were slanted perfectly. Also the 77 I didn't like and the 78 didn't have the tail light emblems.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y250/DopeStar156/1979%20Coupe%20de%20Ville/79coupe1.jpg

Yeah I know, throw shit at me if you want. I like these cars and I like the slant back. It took balls to do something different and Caddy had them in the 80's with this car.
http://www.carguidemagazine.com/archive/classics/images/1980-Seville.jpg

Of all the FWD DeVilles the 89-93 has the nicest rear end. The 91-93 had the chrome strip over the lisence plate which I prefer to it's absence on the 89-90 rear.
http://www.specialtycarlocators.com/Images/rentals/1991CadillacSedanDeville-02.jpg

80-83 Continental Mark VI Gotta love the hump with the "CONTINENTAL" arch effect. My favorite is the Mark VI rear. I've seen it in person in black and fell in love.
http://cars.buzztrader.com/photos/1273/1980239136FL_37_760_3.jpg

Of course, the first car I ever fell in love with ever since I was like 4 years old. The 57 Chevy Bel Air.
http://www.the-rumbler.com/Mates/Zippel/CHRR/Classics/57%20Bel%20Air%20black%20rear%20RH.jpg

Of course, a given, the 59 Caddy.
http://www.johndagostinokustomkars.com/images/59_cadillac_eldorado.jpg

The tail end of a 1970 DeVille is a personal favorite but I prefer the front end of a 69. I love the way the back of this car looks. Hands down, LOVE it.
http://www.roadtramps.com/klubb_bilar/storabilder/7-Cadillac-70.jpg

1970 Olds Cutlass had a fine rear end too.

Hmm, I think I'm done.... I could go all night and personally I'm tired. Those are my contributions.
