What's your window to our world look like?

Here's mine (ignore the decor, the place is rented!):

That's a really nice lamp!
I love those.

Cheers MC, it was initially just cobbled together to allow working from home in the event of a disaster (like the recent London bombings) but I plan on improving it (bigger screen, larger more stylish desk etc) as I'm now working from home at least 2 days a week as I get more done.
The window is just off to the right of the photo so I can look out when I take a break, not that there's any view worht looking at mind...

I have two windows in my office here, One look out towards the sea (I can see it if its a clear day, and if my hedges are trimmed) and the other onto the driveway so I can see who is coming.

Ben, cool lamp :cool2:

I also work from home, especially on weekends, and it has been known for me to go weeks without actually going to the office, my staff keep it ticking over.

My office is in the city centre, also, but i plan to move out of the centre and get bigger space, with possibly a nicer view and bigger blacony, elsewhere for the same amount that i paid for the space in 1994.

I too have a window to my right. When I look to the right, first I see my pet rabbit, and out the window I see my baby-blue eldorado:cool:

Yeah I'm lucky in that my staff are good, I can depend on them.
As long as there's at least 1 Director in there I feel happy to be at home although I can't go a whole week without wanting to head down there to keep my finger on the pulse.

I'm lucky in that I can't see my cars from where I sit or I'd get nothing done all day, it's bad enough having the Cadillac as the desktop background!

LOL

Yeah, the staff I have are very depedable.Although my PA is off sick long term right now, so I'm in alot more recently, I have been generous in that I'm closing the office for nearly two weeks over Christmas, and they like that, and stay loyal to me.

I run the place, but my technician is fully capable of keeping the place ticking over. It does kill me staying off for a long time, but my wife insists on it alot of the time, so i dont overdo it.

I can see four of my cars right now :lildevil: :bigroll: I havent put them into the arage yet!

I see, what if you want a wall though, can you bring them from home? :p

I considered leaving my offices open when I bought the place, but i put some walls in.

Im glad i did now, because they are glass walls, so i can close blinds and make it private, or open them and there is still some degree of community.

Also, I've just built a shower room in a closet that was off my office, I wouldnt have been ablel to do that if it was open, must remember to close the blinds and lock the door!

I was wondering why there was a computer in the Motel.
Then I though, it's not a laptop so surely he's not lugging a dsktop around.

Mac Mini and a flat panel, pure class!

My mum was ill in June of this year and was in hospital fort a feqw weeks.
I only had the IROC art the time which has next to no interior space.
I put all my clothes (anbd toolkit!) in the trunk behind the gas tank and put the flat panel and keybaord etc on top of the gas tank where it just about fits and I can shut teh rear hatch.
And I put the Mac Mini in the glovebox. <grin>

(oh and my previous computer to my Mac was a Dell Inspiron laptop just like the one PG posted).

Sansui? Onkyo?

:) YEY!

That little bugger is an Onkyo TX-2500 MKII

it is freakin' mint!

Got it for $20 at Salvation Army... I usually never buy low end units, and this is one of the lowest in the line up (35wpc) but, hell $20.. and I liked it, it was my first Onkyo.

Damn, am I glad I bought it! pretty simple little guy but in great shape and it sounds amazing! in fact this actually has a better sound then my Sansui... which is why I *know* the Sansui is in need of being restored... plus with my highly sensative JBL L100's, this little 35wpc Onkyo could crank those speakers to limits that I would never listen to normally... its powerful.

It is the computer system along with the JBL N24's on the desk... in the closet I have a JBL Creature II and Altec Lansing 2100... the Creatures sound real good and the 2100 are perhaps my favorite *looking* computer speakers ever (hence the reason I bought them) but looking at the Onkyo... I simply couldn't let it sit on the shelf.. so it is the computer system :)

the Sansui 9090DB is in the living room.

Yep, the case has taken styling from Apple. It's 100$ aluminum as well. I am an overclocker, but now have a watercooled setup (Yes! It's got a radiator!)

Yeah I have a roll of 1,000 (yes, one thousand) of the stickers you see on my keyboard that I got for $5. That's why they are there. I am very proud of my AMD processor, but it isn't an Opteron as the stickers may suggest lol. IMHO, AMD proc's are much better than Intel for gaming, and cheaper. Athlon 3500+, Oc'd to 2.7 Ghz (from 2.2)

I'm a big gamer...

I have too many posting stations to list. Right now I'm on one of the college's dell desktops. My home station is my dell labtop. The labtop is a durable little bugger but I only wish I could find a 2 1/2 inch hard drive to replace my old one with. The old hard drive is still good but, it only has 30gigs of space, of which 20 are being used by my games and art programs. I also wish I could upgrade the video card on it, but I think it's inegrated into the motherboard... O well...

This is the state of affairs under my desk.

The 8 way unit has the 3 way and the 6 way unit running off of oit.
And it in itself is run off a 2 way unit that has an 8 way unit running off of that powering the tv and home cinema setup.

All of that runs off of 1 wall plug!

Very old house with very few electric points I'm afraid.

Don't worry though the total amperage draw is very low, about 3 Amps at most (I used an amp meter form work to check) and that's if I had all the computer stuff on and the home cinema system running which I never do.
Most items you can see are the power leads for chargers and hubs and stuff like that.

One of the nice things about having a laptop is it freed me from my desk:

http://www.gdwriter.com/images/posting_station.jpg

Apple iBook G4 with a 1.2 GHz Power PC G4 processor, 512 MB RAM and a 30 GB hard drive, CD-R/W+DVD.

I have a home office, but I rarely use it since the living room chair is so comfortable. I use the office if I need the printer, or scanner or the desk space.

From here, I can look to the left out the window and straight ahead is my gas fireplace, which is going at the moment (cold night).

Usually, I have a cat on one or both arms of the chair. That's Pepper in the picture. Sage is the brown tabby in the picture of the fireplace below.

In case you're wondering, the sticker on my laptop says "Caution: Sarcastic and Cynical." Big surprise, eh? And I have Dogbert on my desktop.
