I have lifetime oil changes for free, the only catch is that I need to buy the filter.
Today at the parts store I picked up the filter for my 1st upcoming oil change.
This thing is wierd!
It is about 1/2 the diameter of the average oil filter and has no outside casing!
It looks like a gigantic fuel filter!

Which begs the question, "how do you replace the filter?"
Is there a compartment for the filter? or what? I have always replaced my own oil up to this point and I have never seen anything like this.

If your SRX is a V6, it is definitely the right filter. They take an element, like in the 50's. From the top, on the left side of engine there is a large hex nut on a round cap. Just unscrew it to remove the old element and install the new.
