: Guess the interior...

BeelzeBob
03-07-03, 01:39 AM
What is it?

Katshot
03-07-03, 07:39 AM
I'll guess a 2000 SLS. The steering wheel is what's got me. I can't remember what year they changed the bag to the flat one. The lack of a wood wheel rim is also bugging me.

Brett
03-07-03, 08:46 AM
something by Acura...TL...RL?

BeelzeBob
03-07-03, 08:50 AM
Hint #1: Notice the tiptronic...

Brett
03-07-03, 08:51 AM
yea thats what gave me the Acura idea, if its not that then its an audi or a VW....maybe Audi A6

BeelzeBob
03-07-03, 09:11 AM
Nope. No correct guesses yet..

Elvis
03-07-03, 09:14 AM
I was guessing TL until I saw the wheel. Now I'm thinking Infiniti. But it could also be a Camry.

edit: waitaminute! could that be an Accord?

BeelzeBob
03-07-03, 10:18 AM
Not yet! Keep guessing... :)

Brett
03-07-03, 10:23 AM
the buttons on the sides of the wheel make me think ford/lincoln/mercury...but that shifter throws me off....i'm thinking its a lincoln but im not sure...ill go with Lincoln LS...this is driving me crazy btw

Katshot
03-07-03, 10:51 AM
The wheel has me thinking Chrysler to be honest.

Katshot
03-07-03, 10:55 AM
You know what? This just proves how generic and non-descript the cars have gotten these days. When you can look at an interior like this and not have a clue even what brand it is let alone what model.

Brett
03-07-03, 11:04 AM
pretty much

the chrysler "autostick" doesnt look like that...but i dont think ford has anything like that either. Sal was getting nostalgic about a lincoln website last night, that coupled with the fact the wheel looks FoMoCo im sticking with a lincoln product...that being said i give up or else ill spend the whole day on this thing

BeelzeBob
03-07-03, 11:36 AM
Have I given it away yet?

BeelzeBob
03-07-03, 11:36 AM
Yet?

Brett
03-07-03, 11:40 AM

its funny i though it was a lincoln...the only thing was i thought it looked too nice...the it turns out to be a hyundai...this has been quite a learning experience:D

BeelzeBob
03-07-03, 11:56 AM
A brand new XG350 can be had for $24k... You can get a brand new left-over for $20k FLAT. The car rides very nice, handles very nice, has enough power with a 3.5 v6... And, it's obviously nice to BE in... Car companies are going to have to start coming down in price if they want to deal with competitors like Hyundai.. Most people have no idea exactly WHAT Hyundai is.. It's much, much more than a automobile company...

Devil_concours
03-07-03, 12:07 PM
so... why aren't they(hyundai) bringing in their v8 powered flagship sedan (centeniel) here?

Elvis
03-07-03, 01:30 PM
Grille looks like a Lincoln.

That was fun. Do another!

Katshot
03-07-03, 02:01 PM
To be honest, I like the Sonata even better.

BeelzeBob
03-07-03, 02:17 PM
The Sonata looks a lot like one of the Jaguars...

I must say, I was impressed by that exercise. I first thought Oldsmobile (the mirrors looked like Intrigue to me), but that's a nice looking Hyundai. I am impressed with their warranty. Is it 10 yrs/100,000 miles? Or 7 years/100,000 miles or something like that. I think Hyundai has a stereotype of being rather "economical" with their cars, I think they're making a bold statement with that warranty. Sure, it'll get people in the showrooms, but that's a really good warranty for a really good pirce, any way you cut it.

Thanks for that Sal...good game. Yah, let's do another. :)

BeelzeBob
03-07-03, 03:30 PM
10 years/100,000 miles - 5 year bumper to bumper.. :)

Devil_concours
03-07-03, 03:33 PM

Devil_concours

and yes that is completely stock

jadcock
03-07-03, 03:40 PM
Grand Prix. Bonneville? Pontiac something I think. Actually, I'm gonna vote Bonneville.

Brett
03-07-03, 03:52 PM
ill go with pontiac as well...grand prix or bonneville probably

Elvis
03-07-03, 03:56 PM
I'm feeling old Chief Pontiac's influence, too. I'll guess Grand Prix.

Devil_concours
03-07-03, 04:00 PM
hehe that's a 2000 grand prix gtp daytona 500 pace car edition.

Devil_concours
03-07-03, 04:03 PM
it had the quad tip exhaust which looks whole lot better than the stock wide tip exhaust. It also came with small spoiler on the back instead of the hideous stock spoiler.

here is the other pic

Elvis
03-07-03, 04:05 PM
This one may be obvious to some. There's one very simple clue, name the car, and name what tipped you off...

jadcock
03-07-03, 04:11 PM
That's a late 60s Olds Toronado I believe (didn't look at the other pics). What first tipped me off is the speedometer. Then I saw the O-L-D-S-M-O-B-I-L-E above the radio.

Elvis
03-07-03, 04:13 PM
You're good!

jadcock
03-07-03, 04:15 PM
In addition to being a Cadillac fan, I really love Oldsmobiles. My '84 Cutlass got me into the auto hobby. I later bought an '87 Regal with the Olds engine that had a knock. I bought it for a project car. It had the Olds 307 and I swapped that with an Olds 403 from a Delta 88. Rebuilt that thing from the ground up -- did a .030 overbore on it, Wolverine camshaft, new valves in the cylinder heads, etc. I didn't hog out the heads or anything...I wanted to keep it torquey. The cam was a so-so choice. That thing would really really pull, but I didn't have the torque converter or gears (3.08s) to match the engine. I really needed about a 2000-rpm converter and 3.55s or 3.73s to make that car sing. Even still, it'd do a 50-foot burnout really easily. That was a fun car.

Elvis
03-08-03, 04:10 PM
Those were the good old days. You had at least three choices of GM V8 engines that seemed to fit everything. 307, 350, 403, even the 425 & 455 had possibilities...

I loved the 307 I had in my Delta 88. But I wasn't very fond of the GM V6. I think it was a 231, not sure.

Brett

Any Ideas?

Brett
03-11-03, 10:20 AM
Any ideas?

jadcock
03-11-03, 10:35 AM
No idea. I'll start it off by guessing something Italian or British I would guess. The straight sharp lines remind me of Lamborghini, but the soft wood and tan colors remind me of Jag.

Elvis
03-11-03, 11:20 AM
It has that late-70's, early-80's feel to it. Somewhat European, possibly Italian.

On the other hand, you wouldn't throw a kit-car at us, would you? The instrument panel looks like a high-school science fair project.

Here's a wild guess. Avanti.

Brett
03-11-03, 11:46 AM
This may help

jadcock
03-11-03, 01:07 PM
Arrg! I know the car...just can't place a name. I'm thinking either Lamborghini or Bugatti.

Brett
03-11-03, 01:22 PM
you were closer on your first guess

jadcock
03-11-03, 01:42 PM
Another hint please. :helpless:

Brett
03-11-03, 01:58 PM
Here ya go

jadcock
03-11-03, 02:09 PM
Maserati!

Brett
03-11-03, 02:18 PM
Close but here ya go

jadcock
03-11-03, 02:26 PM
I know that car -- just couldn't think of the name until recent. Maserati was the name I was trying to think of. If that's not it, I don't know what it is. I know that car, though, so I'm kinda mad that I can't figure it out. :banghead:

Brett
03-11-03, 02:31 PM
Aston Martin Lagonda...sorry that it was obscure...the interior just cracked me up. I found it on a BMW board under the Heading"spy shot/new 5 series interior"...that really cracked me up

jadcock
03-11-03, 02:55 PM
Woah! Nope...wasn't expecting that. I thought the interior had some British to it, but the exterior just screamed Italian to me. Thanks...that was a good'n.

Im pretty sure its something GM.

jadcock
03-12-03, 10:11 PM
The wheel looks like CTS, but rest of interior doesn't. Almost has a Saabesque look to it. I guess Saab 9-3.

Brett
03-12-03, 10:57 PM
ill go with saab also...i dont see a place for the key...which means its on the center console....which can mean only one thing.....SAAB

9-3 i guess

The rear seat footrest threw me off. I only ever knew Skoda to built Beetle-derivatives small cars. Any further details on this car?

BUILDINGCTSAMG
03-16-03, 12:06 AM
its called a skoda superb and its their new flagship. It kinda looks like an audi and its weird for this car company to actually have a nice car. they are pretty well known in the mid and far east for their pick ups
