Is this a good engine? Would you get this car? (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1995-CADILLAC-DEVILLE-SPECIAL-EDITION-1-OWNER-17K-MILES_W0QQitemZ4590969511QQcategoryZ6146QQrdZ1QQcm dZViewItem)

Assuming you don't care about the color and fake convertible roof.

It's not a "fake convertible roof." They're called vinyl "ragtop" roofs:p.

There's nothing wrong with the engine, but I'D get a Deville Concours...

Hello...
4.9 is a good engine...a bit underpowered IMO when compared to what else is available for the same money.
He offers several clean Cadillacs so it looks like he's not new to this.
The bluebook value is $5,175 (clean, reliable vehicles are always worth more).
Ultimately, a thing is only worth what someone will pay for it.

PS...it IS a fake (Imitation) convertible top-
sometimes referred to as Carriage. Also Ragtop.

Nice car, but I wouldn't buy for 3 reasons:

-4.9 V8, pretty good motor, but I've had bad experiences with mine
- I prefer RWD large luxury sedans
- Engine sits sideways which makes it quite hard to work on

Have you ever thought about a 93-96 Fleetwood Brougham?
I'd go with the Brougham instead.

nay

I think 6100 is too much for a 95. Blue book is at 33 for my devile. So that is double. And it says special what is so special about it. It looks just like mine.
