will the parts from the ls6 fit the new ls2 engine, ie exhaust, headers ?

My understanding is that that the LS2 heads are materially identical to LS6 heads. Whether or not CTS-V/Ls6 headers will fit an '06 CTS-V is another question. One way to determine this is to compare stock exhaust part numbers.

According to TPIS, the intake manifold design of the LS2 is substantially inferior to the LS6. TPIS is currently working on a way to mate the 90mm LS2 throttle body onto the LS6 intake.

1) How is the LS2 intake manifold inferior to the LS6?
2) Why the attempt to mate the LS2 TB to the LS6 intake? Is it better then the LS6 stock version?

Once the hood-latch was pulled, they came around to the front of the car. The brave one, the one who has seen a few more years, reached under the hood and lifted it...revealing the LS6. They just stood there...blank stares on their faces for what seemed like hours to the neighbor, Jimmy, who continued doing yardwork. When Jimmy finished cutting and bagging the grass, he returned the mower to his shed. He glanced across the street before he went inside and the two men were still staring, gazing down into the engine bay of the black car. He walked across the street and asked what was so interesting.....Nothing. They didn't hear him.
As he approached the younger man, he asked him if he was OK. The reply was barely a whisper..."My God, it's full of stars". It was then that Jimmy looked into the engine bay.
Two hours later, Jimmy's wife emerged from the house to call him in for supper. She saw him across the street, standing next to the two men...staring into the engine bay of the black car. He didn't answer her when she called, but he did whisper once..."Its full of stars".

I will make an attempt to answer this one...

It depends on what your plans with the car is.

If you plan on keeping it mostly stock(just bolt ons, not getting into the motor itself) Than the LS6, IMO, is the more prestigious engine to have. However, the extra cubes of the LS2 will respond better to mods which open the engine up(different intake, head work, cams).

The two motors with the same exact mods, the extra cubes will pull the LS2 ahead by a tad.

And the LS2s intake has been known to be inferior for quite a while.

IMO, the heavy V needs the extra torque the LS2, with its extra cubes, provides.

Unfortunetely the differential is the same one, so in actuality the LS-2 guys have a better chance of trashing the diff. Chalk one for the LS-6 guys. We also have tried & true on the LS-6 side.
Who knows what evil lurks in the depths of the LS-2 yet to be discovered!:hmm:

The 5.7 L LS6 makes the same power as the larger 6.0L LS2 so it has to have "better parts" somewhere. It also is not as smooth as the LS2 so those better parts are not better if you want something smooth.

Ah, but remember that StealthV can tune the PCM to make that LS6 purr like a kitten but what a waste that would be! A smooth muscle car with no exhaust pop and burble?! :histeric:
