I thought I might share a few words of wisdom and common sense. They are not mine of course; Im not that smart or wise. Here are a few of my favorites to start. Ill add more from day to day. I hope you all find them as valuable as I have.

Man born of woman is of few days and full of trouble.

I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a girl.

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.

Thanks Kev! Everyone could become a better person heading those words.

A kind word turns away wrath. I didn't think these up either:

Microsoft error messages in Japanese haiku poetry -
Windows NT crashed.
I am the Blue Screen of Death.
No one hears your screams.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
A file that big?
It might be very useful.
But now it is gone.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The Web site you seek
Can not be located but
Countless more exist
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Chaos reigns within.
Reflect, repent, and reboot.
Order shall return.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
ABORTED effort:
Close all that you have worked on.
You ask way too much.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Yesterday it worked
Today it is not working
Windows is like that.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
First snow, then silence.
This thousand dollar screen dies
so beautifully.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
With searching comes loss
and the presence of absence:
"My Novel" not found.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The Tao that is seen
Is not the true Tao, until
You bring fresh toner.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Stay the patient course
Of little worth is your ire
The network is down
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
A crash reduces
your expensive computer
to a simple stone.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Three things are certain:
Death, taxes, and lost data.
Guess which has occurred.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
You step in the stream,
but the water has moved on.
This page is not here.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Out of memory.
We wish to hold the whole sky,
But we never will.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Having been erased,
The document you're seeking
Must now be retyped.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Serious error.
All shortcuts have disappeared.
Screen. Mind. Both are blank.

The road to Hell is paved with good intentions.

Considering another person's point of view is more important than being right.

Nice guys finish last, but so do idiots.

Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level and win with experience.

And just for the young ones...

Look twice before you cross the street!

Just as you should not let others judge you by their limitations
Do not lower yourself to thier standards.

I would rather say that I did than I should have.

If common sense was all that common more people would have it.

Ignorance is bliss only you do not how how bad the situation really is.

Don't argue with a fool because people who are looking from a far will not be able to tell who is the fool.

When you think you have fallen to your lowest point remember even though you may be on your back, always look up, that way you can see where you need to get back to.

A young lion may have the strength to chase and possbily catch his prey but wise lion will wait, stalk, and be successful in hunting his prey.

It is not what goes into a man's mouth that defiles him, it's what comes out that does the damage.

Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth.

As vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes, so is a sluggard to those who send him.

The way of a fool seems right to him, but a wise man listens to advice.

Wine is a mocker and beer a brawler; whoever is led astray by them is not wise.

Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates correction is stupid.

A man who agrees to be his own attorney is said to be a fool but he has a client for life.

Those who think they know everything eventually realize they have much to learn.

Give a man a fish and he can eat for a day but, teach that same man how to fish, and he can eat for a lifetime.

Even a wise man knows that it doesn't belong to him to direct even his own footsteps.

Words of wisdom from my vast knowledge of TV dialog:

The Mary Tyler Moore Show:
Mary: What am I going to do?
Rhoda: Eat some candy
Mary: Rhoda, chocolate solves nothing.
Rhoda: No, no. Cottage cheese solves nothing. Chocolate can do it all.

I Love Lucy:
Lucy: Gee, Ethel, thanks. It's times like this that you know what friends are for.
Ethel: If I had known this is what friends are for, I would have signed up as an enemy.

"Don't get mad, get even..." - My dad, put into action when I got fired this weekend....

"Live's a big wheel, it all comes around." - Also my dad, means everyone gets what they deserve.... He usually throws it at me to tell me that because I'm such a brat, my kids will be just as bad. Hahaha he's right too, they prolly will be....

Not necessarily a proverb, but a conversation between me and my friend while she was babysitting, and a very good look at my future parenting skills....

"Her: what do I do? these kids are being so bad!
Me: What're they doing?
Her: they won't go to bed they won't stop jumping on it what's wrong with them?
Me: Sucks. I wouldn't have this problem....
Her: why? what would you do?
Me: Lower the ceiling fan and turn it on as high as it goes, then tell 'em to jump all they want....
Her: lol you're wicked
Me: And you're shocked? $50 says it works although one of them might have to learn the hard way.
Her: lol"

The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.

The wise in heart accept commands, but a chattering fool comes to ruin.

He who heeds discipline shows the way to life, but whoever ignores correction leads others astray.

A fool finds pleasure in evil conduct, but a man of understanding delights in wisdom.

When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.

A man who lacks judgment derides his neighbor, but a man of understanding holds his tongue.

A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy man keeps a secret.

You guys have probably seen all those motivation posters. Well these are demotivation (http://www.despair.com/) posters. There are too many to display.
It's kind of like watching the Simpsons. We all know (I hope) Homer is the perfect example of a bad father, husband, employee etc. We see him and the rest of the family and (hopefully) recognize what is wrong with this picture.
So it's possible to enjoy and still recognize false assumptions in the situations.

So enjoy!

All I Need to Know about Life I Learned from My Dog
-------------------------------------------------------------

If you stare at someone long enough, eventually you'll get what you want.

If at first you don't succeed, beg.

Don't go out without I.D.

Be direct with people; let them know exactly how you feel by peeing on their shoes.

Be aware of when to hold your tongue, and when to use it.

Leave room in your schedule for a good nap.

Always give people a friendly greeting.

When you do something wrong, always take responsibility for it (as soon as you're dragged out from under the bed).

If it's not wet and sloppy, it's not a real kiss.

Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.

Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.

When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.

When it's in your best interest, practice obedience.

Let others know when they've invaded your territory.

Take naps and stretch before rising.

Run, romp and play daily.

Eat with gusto and enthusiasm.

Be loyal.

Never pretend to be something you're not.

If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.

When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.

Thrive on attention and let people touch you.

Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.

On hot days, drink lots of water and lay under a shady tree.

When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.

No matter how often you're scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout...run right back and make friends.

Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

"A fool finds no pleasure in understanding but delights in airing his own opinions."

"Before his downfall a man's heart is proud, but humility comes before honor."

A bad peace is better than a good war

A characteristic of a happy heart is a smiling face

A flea can irritate a lion better than a lion a flea

A grey hair infects the others

He who is not happy where he is, will neither be happy where he goes

Once on the right path you hardly meet any people you know

To believe is to be certain that you doubt

The wise learn more from fools, than fools from the wise

To overcome fear is the start of wisdom

With some friends you don't need enemies no more

Love is free to get, but invaluable when you have it

The sense of life is to give it sense

A good story is not necessarily true...
