: Help me pick a car

Now that I saw the new Lade...I am almost certain I will buy either a
Mercedes CLS500, Merc. SL500 or a Porsche 997.

I am leaning towards the CLS for its cool factor but am a little worried that when the new 07 S500 hits in early 06...the cls may not be the "it" car.

I am very intersted in what other Escalade owners think and what they would also consider.

I'm probably waisting my time, because it looks like you want to spend A LOT, but if you have time go test drive the new Lexus IS350 and the Infiniti M45, they are badass too.

The IS is FAST!

CLS looks sportier than the S. Though, I already referred to the new C series as a banana shape... so...

And the Porche is a whole different story, aigh?

Why not an M6? Oh shit, it's sold out...
How about the STS-V? I find it kinda offending to ask us to chose between non-Cadillacs for you haha :)

But damn, I whish I had that choice at 25...

I'm not of much use to you.

I saw an actual CLS last wek and I think it's ugly (front isn't too bad but th rest of it is, well, "not nice").
I wouldn't want a Merc SL becuase I live in London and they're like ***hole's, everyone has one.
And since the 80s ended Porsche's have lost their character for me.

I'd get the STS-V because , over here, it's different and would annoy German car drivers who are under the misconception that they drive the finest cars in the world.

A 469HP SC NorthStar STS-V would be a nice cruiser on the Autobahn.:D

Like the other CADILLAC OWNERS are saying, STS-V. Because it's cool like that.

But if you have to go with something infe... I mean from your list :p
S500 > 997 > CLS500

How about a bus pass?

Solves all problems, you get to ride on a 125,000 vehicle every day, with a driver.

Otherwise

STS-V

The SL beacause I like to cruise the PCH at night/top down. SL65 AMG would be the shiznik!
CL is bling, but like you said its due for a new model (I guess that applies to SL too) but with the kinda budget I guess you can just take the hit and buy another when it comes out right?

I am looking into the cls 55 for myself, the new escalade does not impress me with its nasty outside. I have found one and I am thinking of getting it as soon as i see the escalade in person.

I won't touch any of Benz's or BMW's new stuff. Benz is looking like the old Camrys, and BMW is looking like... Well, just ugly. For the price you're looking, get something older, american, and modify it. New Caddy's suck. Aside from the motors, they ride NOTHING like a Cadillac should.

Times change my friend ;)

Oh Bob, there is no Autobahn in England...

Times change, but when a vehicle is truly painful over bumps, there's something not right. Listening to my secondary Olds over bumps is rough, but the bumps don't get to you too much. In that DTS, the bumps sent shots of pain up through my neck. Same with the STS and CTS. They were WAY too reminscent of the trucks I'd driven at their pavilion next door.

I disliked the CLS, which I compared to a pregnant potato, until I saw the new S-class, which looks like someone took a BMW 7-series and tacked on cheesy Ford Focus wheel arches.

I agree...
I suggest a '66-'76 Cadillac (maybe a '59, too) and forget about the imports!
