Maybe it's Calais? ;)

As long as it doesn't mean Cimmeron, it doesn't matter why they chose it. But Catera and the fact it's against the C-Class Mercedes both probably played into the naming.

I like to think of it as Cadillac Touring Sedan.. But I'd like to know what it really is. So if somebody knows, please tell...

In autoweek a month or so ago a cadillac rep said it stood for C-series Touring Sedan

sort of..i guess its a mix mercedes has C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, et al....and BMW has 3-series, 5-series, and 7-series. Cadillac has combined the 2 and has C-series, S-series, D-series i guess

i think sal likes the c-series thing...in the future when the coupe and possible wagon come out it would have to be renamed just "C-Series"

maybe it stands for
crappy ton of sh*t that we released an engine for then changed our mind screwing all those first year owners and making it impossible for them to do anything to the car cause gm doesnt like its owners.
other ideas
cumbersome titanic sedan
Cool toy for your seventies
car totally slow
