Well guys I put up my car for sale on Auto Trader you might think I am crazy but hey I will get over it. I have spent well over 10k in mods on my cts. I have about 6k in sounds but when I sell it I will get a CTS-V I put it up for 32k which I know it is more than what you can get a 3.6l CTS for but I went all out on my car and ran out of thing to do to it which is the reason why I am selling it. here are pictures. It only cost about $500 to ship it anywhere in the U.S

This is what I have on my CTs. 100K 7 year Warranty, Performance I will start from the engine out I have Headers with High flow cat and after that I have a Magnaflow X pipe then I replace the resonator with a Magnaflow dual in dual out muffelr then the Corsa Exhaust. I replace the stock sparkplugs with some Denso Iridium spark plugs.eibach Lowering Springs and Eibach Anti Roll Kit. I replace the front end with a CTS-V front end the windows are tinted limo tint all around. I have the Avic-N1 GPS system with 3 JlAudio Amps the first amp is a 300/2 which powers my front speakers which are Boston acoustic Pro60's components and the second amp is another JlAudio 300/2 which powers the rear Pro60 components then I have a JlAudio 500/1 which powers the 2 x 12" Jlaudio 12w3's in a jlAudio Box and I also have some 7" Alpine monitors in the headrest. I have a Cobra Radar Detecot hardwired right next to the rear view mirror. For wheels I have staggered Dvicni Tuscani wheels, tires Nitto 20x8.5 in the front with Nitto 245-35-20 tires and in the rear I have 20x10 with some 275/30/20 nittos tires in the back.

there's an 04 black V on ebay for 32K with under 20K mile (i think) that is tempting as fuk! if i knew the resale on them was going to drop that much, i may have just waited a year and gotten a used V.

any concerns over the rear diff going out on the V (if you get one)??

A lot of concerns your rear diff going out on a V is basically guaranteed if I get one I will reinforce the diff to make sure mine doesnt go out and if you know how I work I will max out the V in performance and looks.

Ofcoarse I had this CTS for 7 months and I maxed it out without counting a super charger so I will do the same with the V. Cadillac Motor Sports knows I always go all out.

Wow, after all that work that you did. Your car was so sharp! Listen to me, I'm talking like it already gone. I hope you change your mind. I would have a hard time giving mine up. Let us know about any nibbles you get. I guess the idea of the 3 piece rims is gone also?

I'd just wait until the new V comes out, SD.
And you didn't do everything to the car you can. Start coming up with your own stuff to do. Like modding all the lights, custom engine work, etc...

That V is gonna be nice. Shitty for you tho, SD, you won't get to use your typical style rims.

Hey Marine, how about working on an STS? You could even start with the V8 Norstar, lot more performance/options. Also a nicer interior, etc.???

I think I came up with my own stuff to do. I was the first person not only in the forum but I think almost anywhere to change the plugs on the CTS. I was the first person to add the headers and cats in this forum (I know 1 person said they did it also but they didn't have pictures they just said it and dissapeared from the forum). I am 1 of the few not the first but the few that put the V front bumper on. I think I am the only one that started messing with the exhaust and ended up with a custom corsa/magnaflow exhaust. I swapped my headlights for HID's which not too many people have done. My sound system is all custom I think I have the best mids and highs you can get and rewired the whole car with 12 guage speaker wire. I think I am the first one on this forum to put an after market head unit (Pioneer Aic-n1) I know what your saying I didn max it out Lund maxed his out getting to over 1000 HP but I am talking not doing anything really major like a super charger or porting out the engine.

Good luck on your sale....if the tentative deal you have for the V falls through you'd be doing yourself a great service to call Dave at Chesrown Cadillac. I got mine there for an unbelievable price and while it was technically 'used' it was never registered and had only 75 miles on it and qualified for the 6 year/100k mile bumper to bumper warranty.

I'm sure you'll find plenty of opinions, but I would go with Billy Boat headers and exhaust if I had it to do over again.

Really doubt I'd be able to help you since I'm in Canada. But I'll talk to my cousin who's in LA, maybe she knows someone.

The one I found is in the US, but not in Cali.

Cant believe your selling it bro, you've done so much to it and it looks great.
Are you trying to sell it out right or somehow finance it?? I'd put the car on Ebay, you might even get more then 32k and it'll make it easier to buy since people can finance the car through ebay, I dont know many people who can just hand over 32k in cash for a car and if they can, they wouldnt be buying a CTS.

I put it on Auto Trader but it doesnt post till Friday. It is very easy to finance Lets say you want to buy it you call your bank or whoever you plan to get the loan from you give them my vin number and the info of my car. Then they give you a check for the amount of the loan payable to me after that I call dependable auto shippers to send it to you and its financed.

SDM,

Can't blame you for wanting the V. It seems the majority of us would like to squeeze more performance and better looks out of our CTS sixers. I am rethinking my strategy for modding and wondering if I should just wait for a nice V to come off lease somewhere. When I think of the amount of money I would like to spend on my current CTS versus just waiting and purchasing what I would truly like to have it keeps me from ordering all the mods that I can't seem to get out of my head.:lildevil: Then again I realize my payments would be higher, gas, insurance, and of course the mods that I'm sure would lure me on the V side. So there are advantages to keeping my domesticated CTS.
With all that being said can you tell me what kind of performance you gained after all the mods? 0-60 time 1/4 mile etc... And if you don't mind approx. on how much total spent on your mods. I look forward to following your progress with a V in the forums.:)

You have not exhausted all of your mod's by any stretch! How about dropping in the new Z06 LS7, a Tremac tranny and a bullet proof 12 bolt rear, custom 14" big brakes with 6 pot APR Racing Calipers, custom Penske coil-overs etc.

Seriously, Mauricio; have you run the numbers to see what a CTSV LS6 drivetrain swap might run. I've seen complete zero mile LS6 drivetrains ( complete 5.7 engine with all accessories, Tremac tranny and Getrag differential from southern performance for $8000 ).

You could then part out your drivetrain (engine, tranny and differential) and see where you stand dollar wise? The upside is that you would still have all of your interior mods if that has any value to you rather than giving them away or taking a loss.

Just something to think about my friend.

Marine and Jon, you'll both love the V, a big step up. I had 05 CTS before and really enjoyed it. But once I started thinking of all the other things (mods) I wanted in the CTS, it made sense to me to just go get a V. The prices for the V are very affordable now-just do the research. I normally don't run my V hard from a start so at this point no issues with wheel hop or the rear Diff. Good luck on your hunt for a V.
