LOL, well, if i can get a Fleetwood between now and December, i will, but i see it unlikely finding one that i really like, so whilst i keep looking im going to get that Jaguar i had on test drive, remeber? Well instead of the base 3.0 im going for the XJR.

Claire has asked my importer to find her a 99 Deville, base model, for her to tool around in, since we're selling the Astra.

He found a black 99 base model, with moonroof and CD changer with Bose, so were havning that brought over soon.

Ialso have something else up my sleave, but that will surprise you all, im not even sure it will come off yet, so i am leaving it at that :sneaky:

Nothing is final, i havent even seen it. When we go to colect the Deville, i get to see it and drive it then.

Details:

Buick Lacrosse CXS

List price with optional extras: $33,000 (20k)

Ive been offered it at $26,000 all in (15k)

Its a 2005 Buick Lacrosse CXS, in Black Onyx, with Neutral and Ebony Sandstone leather, it is already in the country, a guy had my importer bring it here, then the guy decided he didnt want it, leaving my importer stuck with a Buick with 00,067 miles on the odo in his building.

Hes offering it to me because I am a loyal client :D

Like i say, i havent seen it, driven it, or confirmed that i want it.

But when i go to collect the 99, if i like it, i will buy it straight away.

sounds very very nice. a black Buick Lacrosse, i seen one today actually. man it was sharp looking. for the price and all i would definitely go for it. ive never drove one so i cant comment on how any of that is, but Buick did an excellent job with it... it is what a Buick should be.

No offense meant Mccombie, but didn't you already post this info on the other thread about this same subject?? Something like "Decisions, Decisions" :hmm: At any rate, why not post some pics of your current fleet with you in the frame, holding the front page of the London Times and a glass of single malt???

About the Buick? I was only offered a Buick last week......

The Mercedes has been in my thoughts for some time, i finally bought one though...

I have camera trouble. I am going to take my to get looked at, it will no tupload pictures to any computer, London Times............... I'm 400 miles that way.

I am trying to get pics for you all, I have some on my camera, but i fear i will lose them when it gets fixed. Im going to see my brother to borrow his to take pics for you guys. Im really trying.

Good review there Jesda, thanks for that. Well I'll see what i make of it when i drive it, i might not like it.

I am trying to keep the number of cars i have the same, trying to sell some of them. The Astra and the Rover are for sale, i sold the Eldorado, my uncle plans to buy the ESV next year, and my wife will probably get rid of her Deville.

whoops im sorry, I mean't S600

mccombie_5
10-29-05, 01:18 PM
Yup a digital trip computer, i believe, was standard on all 1999 Benzes.

I~LUV~Caddys8792
10-29-05, 01:48 PM
do you know when they started installing that in the W140 models? And where is the trip computer?

mccombie_5
10-29-05, 02:05 PM
I have no idea when they began installing them, my 94 never had one though, but that was the six cylinder 320.

The display is above the stereo in the centre console.

Why the questions?

I~LUV~Caddys8792
10-29-05, 02:09 PM
I'm asking because I would like to get a W140 S Class or a W126 S Class after college. I would love it even more if it had the trip computer. I love cars with trip computers :)

mccombie_5

I dont think any of the W126 cars had them, but i cant be sure.

The early W140s probably didnt have them, i know the 320SEL i had didnt. That was a 1994 model, built in 93.

They are very cheap to buy at the moment. They certainly wont make you any money, but they will provide years of loyal service. And they are only a few grand.

I~LUV~Caddys8792
10-29-05, 02:22 PM
Yeah, I joined the M-B forums to find out more about them. I love Mercedes Benzes, although I think it's too nice of a car for an 18 year old. I'll just save up for one through college. Hopefully, I can afford a 95 or newer S420 or S500. But a S600 would be oh so cool! V-12 Baby!!!!

mccombie_5
10-29-05, 02:29 PM
I would reccomend the S320 for one reason. Its the best all rounder. It is surprisingly fast, although the off the line acceleration is poor. Otherwise, its nearly as smootha s the V8 and V12 models, and its better on the juice, as well as being cheaper to insure and maintain.

The S420s had engine faults i think, i read somewhere about them being the worst of the bunch.

I personally avoid mid range models. I either take the base model, or the top end model. I never got why you would want a car with some of the features of a top ender, but not all, id rather have none and some extra cash. Thats the reason i took the 320 SEL in 1994. I couldnt justify spending over 100k on a 600, so i got the base model, it did have the long wheelbase though.

I~LUV~Caddys8792
10-29-05, 02:33 PM
cool cool. If i remember correctly, the S320's 6 cylinder puts out a little more hp than my 4.9 V8, but the 4.9 has much more torque.

mccombie_5
10-29-05, 02:43 PM
Yeah thats probably right, the I-6 in the Benz is a very good engine, if you do choose to get one, i would recommend that.

I only have a 600 because i can afford to pour the money in it now. Its and expensive choice for soemone who is of an age less than about 28-30
