Well I am curious to know who makes a pully for this car. I don't seem to see a lot of people listing them as a mod in there list, either that or I am missing it. I would imagine that the same one that goes on the 02-04 Z06 would fit and the belt would be the same. If you have one which one did you go with and could you tell a difference ???

Well that is what I was thinking that they make them for the Vette, so I would imagine that it would work on this car also.

But havent heard anything on it being used on the V.

What about an underdrive pulley set, not just one for the supercharger

I asked about this roughly 6 months ago. The consensus was that with the V's accessory load you'd be over taxing the battery and alternator by under-driving it. Let us know if you do this and you results. Seems like my favorite kind of horsepower.........free or nearly so.

That is what I was thinking was it was going to tax the battery and alternator, but just how much would it do that. I wonder what the differnce of power output on this car is to a Z06 vette ?? I would think that he same pully would work, that works on the vette and the same belt. It would be another mod for us that would free up about 10hp or so would be my thinking. So anyone want to shead some light on the situation on why no one does this on the V, is it a power issue with the alternator and battery ???

If one keeps the stock idle speed of 800 rpm and installs a 10% underdrive crank pulley, alternator output wouldn't be a big issue unless one's running big audio amplifiers, etc.

With my lower than stock idle speed for the past year, its alternator output is similar to having a underdrive of over 20%. Then again I've got headers and B&B x-pipe for music; no big amps here. :)

Keep in mind that the V accessories are not lined up the same way they are for the Z06, so the pulley may not be interchangable.

instead an underdriven pulley. how about a lightweight one? could have the same effect theoritically reduce rotating mass...

True it might not, havent' looked to compair. I can't see why not getting a pully to fit and to just raise the idle speed when getting a tune, that would take care of this issue on taxing the battery and alternator, would it not ???

Have stock radio and speakers, more important to me is makeing more HP.
