: Is the V your "cool" car or is there something even more exciting/exotic hiding

in the garage?

For me, the V (I'm getting it tomorrow!!!) is going to be my daily driver. My garage queen/fun/track car is a NSX...

I'm interested in a thread about what interesting/exotic cars you have, so despite the temptation, please don't turn this into a CTS-V is better/faster/can jump higher than ____________.

Way exotic here - an Escalade ESV for a family truckster, and a Jag XJ8 for the wife's run-around car.

Always something fun moving in and out of this garage. For now, the V is my wife's daily driver and the favorite "toy of the moment" is an '02 BMW M Coupe with a Dinan Signature package and every mod known to man on it. If you want rare, they only built 640 M Coupes with the S54 motor in '01-'02 which makes the V look very high production by comparison! It is begging to go to the 'Ring but will never make it there! :( This is my track machine, the wife is a bit more aggressive and has a Spec Miata race car. :lildevil:

I've got a 3.6L CTS. But my old man has a V. It's his daily non-truck driver. He's got a Ford F350 Harley Davidson for his other daily. His wknd fun car is either a completely stock Nissan 300zx tt, or his '69 GTO Judge with an LS1.

Other than that, I have an 05' Denali and 05.5' Audi A4 the wife and I share. I guess if nobody can really verify it, I'll say I have a Bugatti Veyron in my garage too.:p

My "cool car" was an '04 Z06, but I love the V so much that I lost interest in the Z06 and sold it.

I also have one of the first 2005 Hemi Grand Cherokees to roll off the assembly line. Strangely, when it was new, the Jeep generated as much attention as the V. There is a huge Jeep contingent out there in the marketplace.

The V is definitely our "cool" car in the garage - and the wife's d/d, but for "excitement" we have a Jeep Wrangler built for taking us places that would make the V pass out! I am relegated to a Grand Cherokee Overland for the daily grind to work and back (which is no slouch either!)

Here is my weekend "toy"

It is a 1991 Corvette road race car. Shown here at an Autox last year during a shake-down run after the cage and safety build-up. Blew the stock motor so now building a ~500hp 355 EFI race motor. Should be a blast to drive on the track, weighs ~3Klbs. The V is the coolest street car and my daily driver. Nissan Armada gets family trips, camping, skiing, hauling and towing duty. Wife drives a Mazda Protege5 as her daily run-about. I sold a 2004 Z06 and replaced it with the V because I got tired of driving the SUV 80% of the time - now I drive it 25% which is much more like it. I need the 4-doors for kids, customers and colleuges (in outside sales) and to hold my bike which I bring with me ~3-4 days a week.

My V is my daily driver and toy. I use my car to go on my sales leads, and didn't want to look like a govone pulling up in a new vette or porsche to sell a termite job. They might think the price is a reflection of my car payment.. Also the people who work for me are already envious.
My family car is the New Envoy Denali.
I do dream of other cars for the weekends, Porsche turbo, Viper, New Z06... But my problem is I would probably drive it every day and the V would sit dormant.

I've got two Mustangs...not exotic...but they are my toys.
The 90 is setup for auto X, about 460 NAHP with 8psi of procharger soon to come. Weighs about 2900 lbs and turns much better than the V...it's somewhat of a sleeper as it runs mid 11's now, ~mid 10s when the boost comes with ~ 640 FWHP.
The 86 is pure drag...weighs ~2400 lbs gutted. No times yet...gonna finish the 90 first.

Other toy is an '04 aquatrax F-12X...turbocharged/intercooled jet ski...will do a TRUE 60 stock, plan on a chip/larger intercooler which will get me closer to a TRUE 70.

Do you have any good photos with the LS1 in the Judge? I have been thinking about going that direction with my 68 Cutlass S. The old 455 just sucks gas and to do anything more would almost cost as much as going with a 6.0, or LS6, LS1, etc. Just curious how difficult it was to convert over?

Thanks

The V has been my daily driver for 15 months now. Its the best all around car I've owned/driven. For my bachelor party we drove a 1992 ZR1 for the evening. I've owned a GNX, several V-8 Mustangs and driven several Z06's, Cobras, Lightnings, 1988 911 Turbo.

The other car is my 1971 GS Stage 1 that I have owned since 1981. It was "rebuilt" to be my daily driver with EFI, Overdrive, Baer Brakes, 9" Ford, etc. Just didn't turn out to be as "driveabilty" as the V for daily use. Lots of fun for my three little girls and wife, but I honestly enjoy the V as much or more since I get to use it every day.

FYI, I'll have both at South Georgia Motorsports Park in Cecil (Adel), Georgia this Sunday (October 30) for some drag racing. Basically, the GS either gets driven with the kids or raced. The CTS-V has been to the track numerous times as well.

The V is the daily driver, blend in as much as possible and don't attract attention car.

The toys are the Cobra and the Early Bronco. I came close to keeping the SHO and finishing the S/C uber-sedan project, but it seemed pointless now with the V. I came close to switching the Bronco for a Noble M400, but I don't need another 2-seater with 3 kids, and the boys love the Bronco for offroad, so I'm swapping out the drivetrain/suspension so we can do serious rock-crawling (roll-overs are less likely to cause serious internal injury at 5mph).

If I really want to have fun, I crank up the 550 horses, lose 1500 lbs, and test the limits of the DOT-Rs.

The V is WAY more fun to drive, but the Camaro's paint job sure draws attention. And they only made just over 600 of the replicas so hopefully it will be worth something someday!

I use it mainly for cruising and Bay Area Cobra Club events. It is a little ironic that I set it up for road racing, and I don't track it that often, mostly because I really don't like to push it 10/10s above 100mph without better side protection and a rollcage. I probably should have stuck with the majority of the FFR racers and just done autocross, but that really isn't me.

Hopefully the V will be a fun (and safer) track day car on occasion. Having 3 kids under 5 creates a little too much sanity about these things.:D (and too little spare time)

My V was all alone in the garage all summer, but this past weekend I brought home my wife's new Pontiac Solstice. Needs about another 100hp, but the shifting, cornering, handling, and braking are sweet. Same size tires as the V in that small of a package and that far out in the corners of the car...I am having trouble getting the rear to hang out...hence the need for more HP!! :)
