My driver's side power seat doesn't work and the dealer wants to charge me $286 for a "power seat module" and more for labor (he's still figuring that part out). Anyone have any experience with this item and any cheaper solution?
Thanks.

It's the box attached to the bottom of your seat. As far as a cheaper solution goes, try and find one in a junkyard. Just for laughs, try holding down the switch and wacking the box once or twice, just to see if it could be a stuck relay.

It appears that I have a similiar problem with my 98 Deville Concours. The passenger seat won't move. I can press the buttons and hear the relays clicking but no motion. The seat does not appear jammed and the lights don't dim. I can see the module up under the seat but cannot figure out how to pop it out. I am also equipped to test the module as long as the connections are labeled. Any suggestions here before I throw in the towel and go to the dealer? By the way, it only has 13,500 miles....Thanks in advance for any help!
