Hey Guys and Gals,

I am relatively new here. Has anyone run a blown car at the track and posted times?

thanks

Without Blower for me, times are in my signature with the mods listed there as well. I am going to the track tomorrow night hoping for a new personal best..;)

My mods are very similar to yours except I have the Volant CAI. Hopefully, I can break into the 12's too. Hdmlnium, do you have any tips to get the best 1/4 mile time as possible?

Ddidnt someone run 12.8 completely stock?

I would LOVE to see that.

That must have been one of those below sea level, down hill, Texas tracks. :)

I'm nervous about trying a 1/4 mile. Never done it before, so I'm naturally nervous about proving what a lousy driver I am (wimp). But mainly I'm fearful for my differential. With a grand total of maybe 5 hard launches over 19,800 miles, my diff finally let loose. My launch motto now is, "Roll, baby, roll!"

thats STOCK according to the poster of the time. Since he type N/A under the Modifications section...which means Stock.

I dont know ask the user V-Force.

N/A does not mean stock; it means naturally aspirated, i.e. no blower. Could have a stroker kit, headers, exhaust, CAI, big cam, custom tune, etc, for all we know.

N/A in the cadillacfaq.com 1/4 mile times means we have no available or applicable information on modifications. Looks like I need to pick a better acronym.

THATS STOCK PEOPLE

Yes I understand N/A means naturally aspirated, but in this case.....
the n/a answer was for people that were NOT APPLICABLE under the section entitled MODIFICATIONS for the list of 1/4 mile times. SO N/A in this case means STOCK.

Before popping off at everyone, do a little research with the search function. In this case, you only needed to read Stealth's post slightly before yours.First, V Force's time was never confirmed and he provided no information about his vehicle. There is no proof that the run was actually made, or that the time wasn't recorded on an in-car measuring device.Second, Stealth has already made it clear that N/A means there was no applicable information available on mods. Once again, the poster did alot of bragging but never backed it up with factual information about the run or his V. Third, a guesstimate of 350hp does not mean that a V is stock. Stock V's have a range of dyno numbers, many well below 350. CR

I was really interested in the blown times.

12.99@108 doesn't sound right unless he was running on cheater slicks. With the power band in this car to get in the 12s should have meant a trap speed over 110

04CTSVFLA
10-21-05, 02:14 PM
with the listed 4.6 0-60 from GM.....this car can definetly run 12's stock, especially since everyone says more of the power is from 60+

DansCTSV
10-21-05, 02:42 PM
I doubt anyone will run 12's stock. The best I ran stock was 13.7. My best time with B&B XPIPE and Ling CAI is 13.3. Hoping to better that tonight in the cooler weather.

You can see some of my runs here: http://home.comcast.net/~dansctsv/ or in the FAQ.

The 4.6 second claim by GM has never, to the best of my knowledge, been duplicated by a forum member. It is fiction, and the posted 60-foot and 1/4 times by members lend to such. You will not go sub-13 without some mods, or good drag radials. The latter may not insure such a time, unless you have John Force's bloodlines, so get some bolt-ons if you want to hit the 12s-JMHO.

04CTSVFLA
10-21-05, 04:42 PM
Obviously 4.6 is a real time, because it was advertised 4.6. Apparently the driver was really good. I guarantee you a good driver could get our car at 13.0 if not into the high 12's. Personally I believe its all in the launch. IMHO if you havent broken 13.5 STOCK, then put on your driving shoes and practice. A 400hp 395 ft lb tq car, that runs 4.6 0-60 SHOULD definetly run 13.0 or better in the 1/4.....ESPECIALLY IF everyone says "most of our power is from 60+" If you break 5.0 sec 0-60 during your 1/4 mile run......I GUARANTEE a sub 13.3 1/4 mile time.....do the math

04CTSVFLA
10-21-05, 04:42 PM
BTW im not saying in any way that Im a good enough driver to do so.....but i believe it can, will, and HAS been done,......by someone.

A stock car...straight off the show room floor WILL NOT do 0-60 in 4.6 and WILL NOT do 12's I don't give a damn who is driving, period!!!

"A stock car...straight off the show room floor WILL NOT do 0-60 in 4.6 and WILL NOT do 12's I don't give a damn who is driving, period!!!"

LOL...Come on guys....just cause you cant drive...and neither can I.....doesnt mean some really good driver didnt in fact run 4.6. I believe it
and Gm advertised it so....IMHO the car can and will do 13.0 stock, and i will prove it somehow. DO THE MATH...the car has the power.....we are lacking a driver!

12.6 sounds dissapointing for a blower on a car that runs at worst 13.2 stock. Now if that run was done at elevation or with high temps/humidity that might explain. The Blitzer time of 11.9 for a blown CTS-V sounds more like it.

I have seen a couple of the new Charger SRT8s running 12.9 and 13.0 not only stock but with just a few hundred miles on them.

I am admittedly a crappy 1/4 miler. My best with mod's in my sig' was 13.5 @ 106.5mph. The V was severly heat soaked after a two hour ride to the track and it was 95+* out. I went from entrance gate, to tech to first run in 15 minutes. Two runs and missed 3rd once, forgot to shift once. I believe she would've run 13.0 to 13.1 that day with a driver.

As for a stock car running below 13.0, not a chance.

"Obviously, 4.6 is a real time, because it was advertised." Oh you poor naive goober. If you believe everything you read in advertisements, get used to being disappointed on a regular basis. No body takes those times seriously and the fact that no one has been able to reproduce those times with an "off the shelf" V is no coincidence. I'm sure that a professional factory driver, in a prepped car, on a prepped track, with a friendly timer and a tail wind could see a 4.6, but so what? For someone who (supposedly) bought a V 2 weeks ago, where do you get off mocking other peoples' 1/4 mile times and telling them to "put on your driving shoes and practice." Where are you time slips, hotshoe? The bigger question is why are you so obsessed about the 13 second barrier that you devote more than a half dozen posts to this thread blathering on about your "theories" on what a V's performance should be? Here is an idea. Why not take your car to the track and stay there until your research validates your theory. We will be waiting breathlessly for your report.CR

This is to dam funny.

Okay point in case, there are people that drive 02-04 Z06 vette, some are in the lower to mid 12's. But there are some people with stock F1's that has got the car STOCK down to the air box in the 11.60's and lower. So yes the CTS-V can get into the 12's with a good driver IMHO. It might take a set of drag radials at worst case senario, but I think it can be done. This would be in Texas of course were nitrous is in the air at HRP, the fastest track in the country LOL. Do a search on z06vetteforum or LS1tech and look up JROD, and you will see the times he got out of a Z06.
