Hello all, I was wondering if you guys knew the fuel pressure is supposed to be for my 2000 deville..I am experiencing what feels like the car is choking when I stomp on the gas..Checked Fuel pressure and KOEO is 30psi, engine running is 32psi..unplugged vac line to regulator and pressure went up to 48psi..Rev up engine and psi actually gets a few psi higher for a second and then drops to like 30psi..Are these symptoms of a bad pump? Thanks for any and all help...

Spec is 39-45. Sounds like it's pump time.

:( Yeah I guess I have to bite the bullet and get one

Check www.rockauto.com for part #s and prices. Get a pump/level sending unit assembly, not a pump only. The job really isn't too bad, as there's an access panel in the trunk. No need to drain or drop the tank.

FPR problems ? Fuel pressure spec, GM service manual, is 41 - 47 psi. Cadillac Tech Tips.

Thank you guys..I will check out a new pump..since it never goes past around 34 while running with FPR connected it is probably the culprit..
Don't forget the good news. You can access it through the hatch in the trunk. No need for a tank drop.

Well I replaced the pump and sending unit and the fuel pressure remains the same around 34psi.. Now I noticed I have a leaky o ring where the new pump sits..The new pump came with its own oring but I couldnt get it to fit right and I reused the old one..guess that was a mistake

Post #5. FPR ??? or how about the fuel filter itself - under the rear driver's side passenger's butt.
