Ok so tell me guyz, what would be the error of my ways, how would a double din unit fit in my 99? a major hassle or not too bad, and would i have to cut dash material to make it happen?

never tried a double din, looks like its gonna be hassle, the stock opening looks too small for a dd.......doesnt mean it cant be done though

ok, ive never had my oem radio out. so how bad does it look, are we talking cuttin up the dash board upolstry, or just cutting out some metal?
whats behind that factory faceplate anyway? details pleeze, if ya got em.

Not bad at all.
The plastic trim pops out, then the factory unit unscrews pretty easy.
I didn;t have to butcher the car at all.

There was a plastic tab at the back of the slot that I ripped out with a pair of pliers, it made it much easier to slide the aftermarket unit in.
