There is no inner tie rod ends on a rack and pinion system---only outer tie rod ends and yes they do get loose from time to time. I work for a cadillac dealer so I don't know the exact cost, but recommend doing them aftermarket and getting alignment outside of dealer---will save you money by half!!

I have done tie rod ends on many cars. It is simple. just make sure to mark their location before removing them. However, with cadillacs, I dont know if there are any sensors, etc to worry about. If not, try doing them yourself by looking in a manual. it will save you hundreds of dollars and you will gain knowledge.

The AC-Delco part number for the inner tie rod end is 45A2053. You can see a picture of one here: http://198.208.187.182/internet/PartImage.jsp?mfgname=ACDELCO&prodlinecd=45&acpartnbr=45A2053

Looks to me like it exists, and they go for about $28 at Rock Auto but you might find a better price somewhere else like www.gmpartsdirect.com or www.gmotors.com. As for installation, I have never done an inner end on a Cadillac, only on a Dodge Intrepid, but I'm definitely with Supercrew when he says stay away from the dealership! It may need an alignment after the end is replaced, and that will add a few bucks to the overall cost, but they may be able to avoid it if they're careful about marking the position of the existing end before they remove it.

Thanx for all the help,i was under the car today,i found that there is no inner tie rod ends myself, lol.I did notice that my passenger side has a little play on the rack side, not much, but just a little. The mechanic where i was at,i think he does not know what the hell he was looking at,lol.I did find that i had a bad, more like a broken stabilizer link,i could have not known until i took it apart.I was having the clunking noise just like everybody else, but i thought it would not be the struts.I have to order some links tomorow.Thanx for all the help.:duck:
