Hello...
May I ask why you are interested in a locking cap?
Is it just to make sure that the cap is securely fastened?
If so, a locking cap will solve that problem.
If you are worried about someone siphoning gas from your tank, do not worry, as the tank has a built-in anti-siphoning valve to prevent this. No one, not even you, can siphon gas from this car.
There are aftermarket caps that lock. Just be sure that it is an approved cap for your vehicle as this can have an effect on emission controls...and your "check engine" light!

Post back your solution.

You can change the door to the gas cap to the chrome style with a lock feature. http://www.usspeedonline.com/page/U/PROD/AS-6090

those are really cool looking, but i think 4 me i just need a locking cap that fits properly, and every where i look seems to have nothing available or no info what so ever will the 05 fit the o6 it has no threads on the 06 only a couple ridges in almost triangle shape. ive searched the web bigtime with 0 results. and im afraid to call a cad. dealer. although if they have one i guess il just have to take it in the shorts. just wonder if any one knows, bout em or is a avalanche cap gonna work or whatever. i just park a few days at a time when im out on my boat. and kids have been known to screw around with cars at the lake i go to.:alchi:

YOu can buy a locking gas cap from any autzone or car store, but you may get an error code on your dash telling you that fuel is leaking. It showed up with me after having the gas cap on for abour a year. I dont know why this happens but it happened but it also happened with several other people on thise site. Also the locking gas cap I bought costed around 10-15 dollars. and is much easier to put on then the fancy ones with a button in the front. plus I dont like the way they look anyways.

Fram makes a great locking gas cap. They should have it at your local auto store.

I tried the GM parts direct locking cap and got the 'vapor leak / check engine' message within 10 miles. The problem is that the part is made for the 2WD 2004 Escalade and I have the 2004 AWD Escalade (6.0L engine).

Problem solved? I have had no problems with the 'Stant 10511 - Regular Locking Fuel Cap: W/O Threaded Filler Neck' so far (it's been about 2 weeks.) I bought it from Advance Autoparts. The clerk said it's the same cap for the Avalanche.

The Stant 11511 is the same cap as the 10511. The 11511 just comes in a box and the 10511 in shrink-wrap. I asked Advance Autoparts the same thing.
