Hey i have a 95 sedan deville and i am putting in a whole new sound system. I was unsure of the front door speaker size. i saw the chart on this site and it said it takes a 5 1/4 speaker...but the size of the speaker hole in the door is very small...it looks like a 4 inch speaker would barely fit..has anyone ever changed the front door speakers on a 95 deville? Did the 5 1/4 fit??

with very little cutting in my 94 dev, i put in 6.5s. 5.25s will fit.

Once you take the panel off, they are 5.25. One 5.25 wasn't loud enough for me, so With some modifications, I now have 2-4" MB Quart's in each door.
fwiw, the 95 Deville has two-component speakers on the front doors - 5.25" woofer and a seperate tweeter. I wonder if you were looking at the tweeter size. The 5.25" woof is a pretty easily replaced driver, and you could go larger if you want to chop the sheetmetal (be mindful of the depth of your new drivers so they don't interfere with the window being able to roll down fully). To do the tweet's you will need some ingenuity as they are specially mounted and there is no "universal" mounting standard for these types of tweeters.

You can mount aftermarket tweeters using some of those metallic laces used to attach the back of a head unit to the car.
