Alright people, enough is enough!!!! Just because you dont own a cadillac doesnt mean you cant be here!!! Look up at the top, this is for CADILLAC ENTUSIASTS! Im pretty sure that everyone, including myself is sick of hearing everytime they post (in my case its often) about why Im here!!!!

Well let me tell you why Im here... Back last december, I decided that I really wanted to get a cadillac.... So, since it was the winter, I did countless hours of research to acquire as much information about the 90s to present cadillacs I could find..... Then I found GMforums, I posted on there for a month, and then Sal started up this site.... I came here to learn about the automobiles, and as you know I didnt end up getting a cadillac! But in that process I learned a TON about the vehicles, and I dare say I know more than many of the cadillac owners here.. Im not trying to be arrogant, but thats the fact of the matter!

If you all feel I am a detriment to the site, I will leave.... However, I dont think thats the case, and im sure many memebrs would feel the same way!!! I think I help people out, and give overall good information. If thats not the case, let me know! But just because I dont own a cadillac doesnt mean I like the cars and stuff like that!!!!

Wes, if we bothered to count, I bet you have helped more people on this site than anyone else. You may not have the exact answer all of the time, but you are usually close. Not only that, you are one of the most personable people on this site. Usually you are the first to greet new members, while everyone else is too busy complaining about something irrelevant to help anyone out or even say hi. Heck Wes is even helping the site out financially by being a supporting member.

Well, where do I begin.

I am sick of starting a thread about a movie called Terminator 3, only to find out that instead of an exchange of educated ideas and movie reviews some Beavis wanted to "do a Terminator chick in the butt". That never bothered anybody in here and there were no angry replies that this is not a sodomy fantasy website. I was really looking forward to having that movie made and me and my brother finally went to see it and both had a lot to say about it. So much for my hope to unearth a couple of Siskels and Eberts here.

I am sick of starting a thread about Libertarians in this forum. I expected to find may be one or two (I am realistic) and may be hear stories from them how they work to shrink the size of their local government. Instead, we were talking about "Canucks" and some other totally unrelated "BS". Forgive me, but I can't think of a more accurate word.

I am sick of starting a thread about my paper that I was at the time doing on industrial espionage and not a single soul, other that Ralph (thank you, Ralph, by the way), bothered to reply. But I am sure, everybody had something to add to "My take on rice" forum, which has extended to a ridiculous amount of ten pages, as if there were actually ten pages worth of posting.

I am sick of starting a thread on labor unions only to see that but a few postings were actually relevant to that topic while the rest of ten or eleven pages were filled with either Democrat/Republican or pro-gun/anti-gun debate which at times was on a dangerous edge of a flame war. I didn't care for those arguments and if I did, I would simply start a thread that would read "Guns: what do people think?" or "Are Democrats better than Republicans? Or the other way around?". I did post a little reminder that maybe people should stick to the topic or start a new thread. That fell on deaf ears. And if I want to flame or read a flame exchange, I'll just go to www.hondaricestupid.com and argue with some seventeen year old whether the picnic table spoiler should be put on the trunk lid or on the roof of his vintage 1981 whatever or something like that. Partially, I do blame myself for that thread, as the labor union debate is somewhat politically charged from the beginning, still, I think my complaint is legit.

I am also sick of the fact that when KCNewell says something I and most people would consider rude, it's just innocent words, but when BOB3321, I think that is his nickname on this swear-off we have here, simply stated in the labor unions discussion that the other member of a forum is simply too young to have an educated opinion, he was all but crucified. Assuming neither of the two were lying, 18 years old does not and cannot have an opinion as educated as someone much older, like Bob3321. Why did KCNewell say that shooting Michael Jackson in the head would help him? Why does he want to shoot Michael Jackson? Did Michael Jackson hurt him? Did he molest his children? SLS97 was right, that WAS a terrible comment. Sometimes I feel like saying "you stupid" or "you dumbass" or "go whack off to some porno site or some crap instead posting here and polluting this forum and wasting our time", but I do not, as we as a Cadillac lovers community would be no different than the www.hondaricestupid.com forum I mentioned earlier.

I am sick of the fact that most of the pics on the "post your picture here" thread are removed and some of them are of SupaFly, that I enjoy(ed) looking at. Why was that done? Was she naked or engaged in some explicit sexual act? Unless so, I really want to know.

I am sick of people often times posting meaningless postings just to post something, or to convince somebody different from their beliefs. The ten pages of "My take on rice" and about as many of "Anyone sick of custom imports" make me sometimes wonder what people come here for. Why can't people just let go if someone in the virtual world thinks that in-line four Civice with (fill in the blank here) can beat any (fill in the blank here)? I am coming here to learn and if I do read an opinion I disagree with, I am always curious how that person justifies those statements.

I am sick of people trying to badmouth or, on the other hand, jealuosly defend George W. Bush here. Who cares, people? George Bush will not be in the White House in maybe a year and definitely in five years and we may praise him or curse him, but come fall 2004 one half here will vote Democrat and one half here will vote Republican and NOTHING will change until a third force is introduced and that is a part of a reason why I started a Libertarian forum. Democrat/Republican debates more and more resemble Domestic/Rice debates.

I am sick of people not proofreading what they type. Proofreading shows the consideration for fellow forumers and no proofreading, respectively shows lack of that.

I especially advice you to reread a second paragraph. Elwesso, WE WANT YOU TO BUY A CADILLAC, AirJigga ( I hope you read this), WE DON'T WANT YOU TO SELL YOUR CADILLAC. David Topus, IF YOUR DEALERSHIP SUCKS, GO TO ANOTHER ONE OR FIND A GOOD MECHANIC THAT ACTUALLY GIVES A DAMN ABOUT HIS JOB. I am not yelling, I am just stressing the importance of those statements. The postings about people selling Cadillacs for reason other than buying new Cadillacs sound really wrong on the Cadillac enthusiast site. Therefore I merely proposed an insentive for Cadillac owners to keep their Cadillacs and non-Cadillac owners to get one.

I do not deem you, Elwesso, an outcast here, merely 'cause you drive Infinity. In fact, I am glad you are here. We welcome all, much like churches would welcome anyone inside whoever they are. But I feel that because I drive a 1994 Fleetwood Brougham (not the one in the avatar, though, that one actually was copied from e-bay) and many others here drive Cadillacs, the whole community here shoud create a certain clan or clique of some kind as their way of approval of that ownership. In there certain information would not leave that circle of people, the moderator would decide what that information is. That is all.

And I am sick of the fact that instead of playing with that idea and maybe coming up with something, not necessarily dead like I envision it, but still something creatinve, series of angry and sarcastic remarks followed. See above how I feel about back and forth flaming. Credit needs to be given, some merely chose to say "I disagree".

Lastly, everyone, I wasn't angry when I posted that thread, and I am not angry now. If I were, I would post some smilies, as they're conviniently placed to my immediate left, to reflect that.

Discussions like that are about opinions. Everyone is entitled to one, and all of them over age 18 have equal value. Why? Because the Constitution says so. We all get one vote.

Forums like this are about education. Pointing out that someone is 18 and their opinion doesn't matter doesn't educate anyone. It's taking the easy way out. Explaining why an opinion is wrong and backing a statement up with a fact or an anecdote does educate.

Everything else in your post were legitimate gripes. I may not agree with all of them, but they're your opinions and observations, and they have value.

Now, I'm interested in WHY you are always the one to start threads with inflammatory topics? There are hundreds of political forums out there with a membership of people much better educated on these issues. The only purpose I can see in forcing an issue like this is to drive members apart. It doesn't seem to contribute in any way to building a community.
