I have a 97 catera that just started misfiring on number 5 according to the code. All of the wires are tight and look good. Anyone else had this problem? If so any suggestions. How about changing the plugs is it to bad. Someone said I would need a sparkplug alignment tool??? Thanks any help would be appreciated.

well first pull the wire off #5 check and see if there is oil down there. if no pull that plug and give it a look over if it looks bad go buy 6 new one's install them. just buy the bosch 2,3, or 4 and there is no need for you to check the gap. then if you still have misfire change plug wires. and as a last resort change out ignition coil. now if there is oil in the hole were your spark plug sits you will have to change out the valve cover gasket and get new o-rings for bolts then do all the above items as well because they will be bad also.
