This is just a curiosity question. I just got my EXT about a month ago so I don't know alot about them yet. When I start it up and begin to drive, after about 20 feet or so I hear some kind of electrical motor noise for just a second. It's pretty loud. What is this?

I belive it's the air compressor behind the rear driver side tire.

I figured it was normal and had something to do with the suspension. I was just wondering what exactly it was. Thanks guys.

Yes it automatical turns on to level the headlights. You will hear it run longer if you park on a incline too.

Thats what my owners manual says about the air compressor that comes on to lift the rear up to level the headlights. I will reread it again to make sure I read it right.

LOL, it's the ambient air sensor. It;s installed above your head in the headliner. I just had mine replaced under warranty.
