Guy's, on my 05 V there is a rubber seal that runs up the inside of the drivers side fender so it seals against the hood when closed, but on the passengers side where the piston is to hold the hood up there is not one

Is this normal

No, and those seals are loose and come off easily. Every time I wash my car and wipe down under the hood I have to "reattach" those 2 seals.

Are you missing a hood strut or a seal?

On the CTS forum, a member reported that his '05 only had one hood lift strut. It must have been a cost cutting measure from GM. Either that or an oversight. My '03 CTS has two. I need to check and see that I still have the seals, though.

04/05s only have one hood strut..

The rubber weather seal is always loose on my car too.. dont know how to fix that easily (and not permanently)
