They were the same from 1959-1998 so id take an early or late one.
And the original Range Rover. Stoneage_Caddy 09-23-05, 08:36 PM And the original Range Rover.
oh YEAH ...forgot about those .....they looked so much beatter in 2 door trim Stoneage_Caddy 09-23-05, 08:37 PM i gotta add one more ...1973 GMC Motorhome .....redone by ME....in my taste ... mccombie_5 09-23-05, 08:39 PM Yeah, i had a 1980 four door model, i wish i hadnt got it now and gone for a 79 2 door, it was the first year of that style Range and everything broke.
They were great though, i also have a special place for my Ford Cortina, but nobody else will. Stoneage_Caddy 09-23-05, 08:39 PM i liked the lotus cortina beatter .... mccombie_5 09-23-05, 08:42 PM i liked the lotus cortina beatter ....
I wish i had that type, i had a 74 mk3 Cortina, it had the vinyl roof and "american" styling.
It was onyl two yaers old but that went wrong alot too. Then i got my SD1V8 and i knew the meaning of the word "fault"

1972 Riviera powerglide 09-23-05, 09:21 PM being born in 1974, I can't remember lusting after any cars (stoney you weren;t even born till the 80's, impressive knowledge!)
70's really was low tide for cool cars with the oil crisis and what not, but I do like those 70 model vettes, especially in a convertible body style.
I guess, i can't be specific but I loked those land yachts like the caprice convertible and what not.... terrible one 09-23-05, 09:37 PM 1970 Dodge Charger That's an easy question, the 442 my Dad bought new, or my old '69 Charger......(1969 was close enough to 1970 ;) ) The Olds was 10 times nicer than the Charger in reality.

LOL, the Mopars I had were ok, and there isn't quite anything like a long sleek Charger at a redlight, but the klunky trannies and leaky side windows had their limits with me sometimes...... ;)
My friend had a red '70 TA and in 1988 when prices peaked, he sold it to a pilot in Calgary for $18,000. (a very good price back then and it was perfect, complete with the basic "dig dish" hubs, all orig. DeVillish 09-24-05, 08:29 AM i always like the 'Cuda, my dad had a 72....or was it 73 charger. How about that "Vanishing Point." The ultimate Mopar movie. (1970 white Dodge Challenger R/T) Yea, I really like the R/T...I'm torn between the Hemi R/T or the T/A. My '72, I'm building it as a T/A replica of what should have been...its got a 440/automatic, and is going to have the T/A hood, exhaust exit in front of the rear tires, and great handling and brakes...that's the plan, anyways... Sounds cool, any pics so far?? But you'd need a 340 six-pack for a TA replica?? ben72227 09-24-05, 10:56 PM 1970 Eldorado

That's Mr. Big's car from LIVE AND LET DIE isn't it... Are you sure it's a Corvette underneath? Or is it just a customized Eldorado (like the one Superfly drove in 1972)? Sounds cool, any pics so far?? But you'd need a 340 six-pack for a TA replica??
Yea, you would...but I'm building it as it SHOULD have been made. :) Nothing better than a Ma Mopar Big Block! Plus, the 440 will be a bit cheaper to build than a good 11 second 340 six pack that'll run on pump gas, which is what I want to do in the quarter. I'm thinking about a five hundred horse big block with a lot of aluminum to make it as light as an iron 340, and the brakes and suspension to handle like an upgraded TA car, but with an automatic and A/C so I can drink my coffee on the way to the track. :D I've got pics, but its with no motor, no trans, no interior and its been in a field for a few years...the car is in pieces right now, trying to find the time to get her worked on. Back in school now, so its tough to find time. Brakes and suspension from PST are the first step, I've already redone the floors and trunk, and painted the dash. Not sure what I'm going to do about gauges and such, probably stock. I've got power steering and power disc brakes already too...great starter car...well on its way to being one bad ride! a thought: I'm actually leaning towards a 383 instead of a 440, cause they can be just as bad ass and give you that extra 1/2" of header space to get to the plugs and oil filter. Got the tranny built already, 727 w/ with manual valvebody and big block bellhousing, with a pretty high tension shift kit. Waiting to buy a torque converter until next summer when I get the engine built and find out where I want the stall at... davesdeville 09-25-05, 09:33 AM 1974 Imperial

1970 Nova while I'm at it. dbdartman 09-25-05, 08:50 PM Spyder, 440 block, 4.15" crank, 11:1 forged on non-stock rods, Edel heads, Holley street dominator intake, 850 double pumper, & a cam around 248 @ .050 with around .6" lift will get you around 550 HP & around 600 lb/ft on pump gas & be power brake & A/C friendly. Remember, there's no replacement for displacement! :cool2:
My bro's similarly built engine makes over 400 lb/ft from 2K-up... (built by fast68plymouth of Moparts) & peaks at 550+ hp & 590+ tq. :lildevil:
I'm kinda surprised at the popularity on the Mopars. Used to be, we were the "red-headed step-child" of the Detroit auto makers...
Sorry, my list of favorite cars is mostly 60's stuff (with a couple 50's thrown in). The 70's was the dregs of auto design IMHO. ben72227 09-25-05, 11:36 PM That's Mr. Big's car from LIVE AND LET DIE isn't it... Are you sure it's a Corvette underneath? Actually, I'm pretty sure it was a late 70s Mercury Grand Marquis. I tend to notice the cars in movies. illumina 09-27-05, 11:13 PM Actually, I'm pretty sure it was a late 70s Mercury Grand Marquis. I tend to notice the cars in movies.
