What will be new for the 2006 V? Have they fixed that rearend yet that i have been reading about? Any new colors or options. I Know the LS2 has a much better power curve than the LS6. I plan on getting a new car in November and after being flamed on this board for asking some questions i am still leaning twords the V.

LS2 has a much better curve? Better when it comes to under the curve throughout the band, but Ill take the top end curve of the LS6 anyday.

This first thread ('06 changes faq) shows cross drilled rotors. Are those going to be standard in 2006?

Does anyone know if the '06 LS2 will be exempt from the Gas Guzzler tax? That would be a nice $1,500 savings right there.

There is a $1300 gas guzzler tax on the GTO and that has an LS2 in it...

I was told that the V wouldn't though, so go figure...

It should be based on the gas mileage. I don't know what the ranges are though.

Just found it...

www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/info.shtml#guzzler (http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/info.shtml#guzzler)

Now we just need the EPA figures on the car. I think the city is somewhere in the 14-17 region so most likely there will be the tax as you need 22.5+ combined to be exempt.
The falloff is immediate though so if the GTO has an average of 21.5 you only need 1mpg better to be exempt.

According to GM, there will be no gas guzzler tax on the 2006 CTS-v.

might it have something to do with production volumes and GM is expecting a lower production volume?
