hello i made a terrible mistake and left my timing light connected to the bateery and #1 cylinder plug wire and i attempted to crank my car and im now unable to. this has happened before! hah i guess i didnt learn the first time, but the first time with the help of the members or this forum i was able to start my car again by jumping the starter, unfortunatley jumping the starter is not working . what can i do ? thanks im greatful for everyones help they have given me the pastyear

Maybe you simply drained the batt. Do the headlights work?

yes the headlights work , the starter solenoid clicks but nothing happens

Test your battery voltage with a voltmeter. The headlights will still work even if the voltage is too low to turn over the starter motor.

i tried useing anouther battery the other day and no luck but that reallly doent mean anything. what exactly happens when you leve a timing light connected and atempt to start the vehicle ? does it surge or what exactly what may be damaged i think you catch my drift what may have happened thanks
