The story goes....
Had to take a business trip up the Southern California coast line above Santa Barbara. Left Orange County...that's right...the Big OC (as seen on every TV) early in the morning (5 a.m.). Had to wear a T-shirt with sleeves...cause it was cold.
Just north of Santa Barbara...the ocean, just 100 yards to my left (7:30 a.m.), had to roll down the window...needed the smell of the ocean air...ahhhh....the sound of waves crashing..the smell of salt water. Doing 85, cruise contol on...th3 Big h00pT3 rolls smooth.
5 days later....return trip (averaged 27.9 miles/gal.) 10:30 a.m.
Gassed up in Lompoc for return trip. $3.28/gallon...$55 total fill up.
Got a bacon cheese burger and some fries...th3 big h00pT3 is once again on the asphalt and begging to be let out.
Taking 246 to the 101. Curvy..semi-mountinous road...some road construction. 2002 Corvette in front of me...once past the road construction...he lets out. Ummmmm....let me play...follow the leader.
For the next twenty miles I hug him like he was my mother...all the while munching on the burger and fries...and listening to Diana Krall on the 10 disc CD. Beeeelllllcccchhhh...God that felt good. We hit the 101...not more than twenty yards seperate us. We both pull on to the 101. I pass and he gives me the thumbs up sign...I smile and return it. This is a good day my friend...this is a good day.
Further on...traffic...many stops...five hours...and 200 miles later I arrive back in Orange County....that's right...the Big OC (as seen on every TV in the world).
At home...a shower...order in some Carne Asada tacos...break open a Corona... or two....ah yes...
Th3 Big h00pT3 rolls on....
