Does my 1990 Allante have an EGR valve? After looking my car over high and low, and not finding anything that remotely resembled an EGR valve, I purchased a subscription to Alldata from AutoZone........thought I would get the definitive answer. While Alldata makes reference to checking the EGR valve and solenoid in several places, I also found an obscure reference in the ECM status lights description that says that the EGR solenoid output is not used on this model year. Yeah, yeah, yeah...........buy the service manual. I have followed the 2 EGR tubes on the underside of the throttle body from end to end.........nothing looks even close to an EGR.

Check the Allante list too, they might be able to help you more, but I am sure some of them lurk here too.

The 1987 and 1988 Allante had a 4.1 liter engine that had an EGR valve on the end of the intake manifold upper plenum.

The 1989 - 1992 Allante had a 4.5 liter engine that did NOT have an EGR valve. There was no EGR on that engine due to the cam timing providing internal recirc and the operation of the three way catalyst that cleaned up the NOx sufficiently.

Thanks Chevelle...........I'm curious do you own a service manual?
