anybody knows what causes traction control to come sometimes and go off.

Funny 'ting you should mention, my '97 SDV does the same 'ting. I USED to be concerned, but after a while felt it wass just one of the quirks with these machines.

Check your battery cables for corrosion and a clean tight connection.

Check and see if there is any codes stored in the on board computer and reply.
If I had to guess I would say it is either a ebtcm or wss.
