This is my first post here!
I'm going to be getting an '04 black V soon. I'm very excited!
We all know its fast, but how does it compare to other fast sedans.
Assuming Caddie's number of 4.6 to 60, what stock sedans are faster?
I don't think the E55 is. Is the EVO MR faster? The Mas. Quattroporte is not. How about the M5? I think the Jag S Type R is a 5 second car.
Look forward to your replies!

my dad just picked up an 06 E55, unfortunately for us its 0-60 is 4.2. The CL65 0-60 is 3.8-3.7....thats just to start the list off

For sure these cars are dangerous to toy with:
new MB E55AMG
new MB S55AMG
These are pretty evenly parred with the V:
300C SRT-8 (close.. never encountered one so i don't know)
These you will destroy or pull (first hand experience, I've destroyed or pulled on every one of the cars below)
older E39 M5s (these are tougher, you have to be in the right gear... 2nd gear going 60mph on the freeway is perfect)
newer V8 Audi S4s you will kill
g35s (child's play)
C55AMG and C32AMG
Older E55, S55 (NA notors)
Volvo S60R ..easy
Acura TL (beating a baby seal)
M3 (yes it's a coupe but dime a dozen)
Being supa lazy...
How about the S 600 ? I've seen a few in the last few days, and was not sure about them (parked or at the gas station).
I kinda had it in my mind that any Merc that started with a 6 was bad news, but unsure about the boat-like S 600.

Funny that its pretty much just Mercedes (along with BMW's M5) that are faster. Stock for stock, I think the V is faster than a STI and Evo.
So, for bragging rights, the V appears to be one of the top 10 fastest stock 4 door cars in the world and probably the fastest sedan stock sedan under 75K...
What do you think?
I like bragging rights. They're fun!

for the difference in cost, you can make your V a sleeper with a maggie or h/c setup or NOS or whatever, BLOW THEIR DOORS OFF, and have enough to build a garage to keep your V in.

Thanks for the suggestion Florian, but at this point, I don't really need the V to be any more powerful or faster than it is. I have a sports car (the NSX in my avatar) for going fast. Ironically, while the V is faster to 60, the NSX is and will remain my weekend and road course car. The V is going to be my DD. I just think it'll be fun to tell folks that it's the fastest stock 4 door car under $75K in the world. I just don't want to be wrong on that issue though!
Seems that none of the car mags have been able to match Caddie's claim that the V can hit 60 in 4.6, but hey, they say it's so, so I'm willing to take their word for it.
