I have a scratch on my passenger side mirror and I am getting it painted. Rather than taking my car in I would like to remove the mirror and hand it to them :) Anyone have instructions for this?

Give me your e-mail and I'll send it to you... With the pictures and everything that goes along with the procedure it's too much to post here....

Well, I have been talking to Reed about a "simple" backup camera to display interface.

(Would be pretty cool) and one could use it to watch the trail of rear end fluid or parts:eek: :histeric:

Any info is better then what I have now (none).

James,

I have a replacement assembly for my driver side mirror and was wondering if you could provide the same type of info (how to remove, etc) for a 99 Catera?

Thanks,

Randy

Let me know if you run into snags as the service manual can be a bit vague on the nuisances and tricks in getting the inner door skin off.

Just ask my wife, she had the easiest method to remove the mirror: Put car in reverse and back past a parking pillar. Mirror comes right off! Putting it back on was harder.

ryan2.5, I don't have any information on the mirror removal, but I have done a couple on some other cars. It required taking the door panel off. Wasn't too bad and I am sure someone on here has the steps and locations of the necessary screws and plastic tabs to get the panel off quickly.

What I do want to say is that mad props for the good use of the search in the forum on your first post. I've got you a free bump and hopefully someone will chime in.
