ok, so hopefully you guys tell me im completely wrong and something is setup wrong... but I feel sometimes as if this navigation system is useless. When your driving you cant find any POI's, and it doesnt know half the streets that are out there.. you would think a town/city that has been around for several decades without much of any improvements would show all the streets or at least half of them... I do outside sales and run appts daily and it doesnt find but 10% of the addresses I need.... Is there anyway to set it up to where I can find POI's while I drive and input addresses also.. And is there a CD that is more updated that I can use?

I have a great success rate with my nav. Sometimes there are some addresses that are not listed but you could enter 2 cross streets and that always seems to work for me. You also did not specify which version you are using so I am not sure if you have the lastest disk.

I had the same problem with mine. I got so mad I ended up punching the screen. Now it's broken and doesn't work at all. The interior of my car looks like a [removed racial comment] owns it.

It depends on if you have the CD or DVD navigation. I have a DVD Navigation and the latest version is 6.3. I am sure someone with the CD Navigation will let you know the latest CD version. The version will be listed right on the CD or DVD.

Doing a quick search I believe the latest version is 5.4 but I honestly have no idea how much more updated the 5.4 is compared to your 5.1. Hopefully some CD Navigation users will chime in.

I can tell you that the CD & DVD's are manufactured from a company called Zenrin. The same Cadillac CD's and DVD's work in the Infinity Navigation systems and you can purchase the Infinity CD's directly from Zenrin for a fraction of the price that Cadillac will charge you.

The website is: http://www.zenrin.com/navSoft.asp

I guess you could call them and ask them how much newer the data on the 5.4 is compared to the version 5.1 that you have.

wow, im not black either, but do in fact take offense to that comment. You should be banned for posting racial comments like that.

You deserve a broken screen!

I'm sure that punching an LCD display is going to make it get you to your destination more accurately.

On second thought, maybe you just thought it was giving you incorrect directions, when actually they were trying to direct you over the nearest cliff. Smart CTS!

Moderators! Just FYI, I was curious to check out this guys posts. He has nothing positive to contribute here. 2 negative posts in a row? wtf? (http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44614)
