:( I dont know how to change white reverse lights without taking the bumper off
its my first car and bought it from old lady(only 50,000 miles) and I am systematically changing everything.

I need help / its the only thing not working that and the analog clock

could you post a pic? I'm not familiar with the '73 rear bumper.

I know on my '70, you just unscrew the plastic lens, reach in and remove the bulb. The bulbs are the type that you push in and give a quarter turn to remove. Often on older cars the glass part will break free from the metal base though, and then you have to use needle-nose pliers to grab the base and remove it.

I know you can't change it from the trunk but if i look a bumper from under the car I can see the back of the light. The light on the back looks bolted on one side and welded on the other

You say you can see the back of the light - is it all metal on the back, or is there a whitish rubber/plastic fitting that the wires go into? If so, that probably comes out with a 1/4 twist.

Are you sure it is welded on one side and isn't a tab that fits into a slot? You could try removing that bolt and see what happens. Extensions and universal joints on the ratchet will probably be your friend.

Looks like the white part (socket assembly) twists out of the back of the light to facilitate bulb removal.

Not to change topic but I knew I seen that car before or just one that looks exactly like it when I was going to route 541 Burlington mall. It was sitting on the lawn next to some other car. I am stationed on Mcguire AFB NJ
