Lexus has 306hp out of their 3.5L in the new IS350.
Any more info on the direct injection 3.6L?
Caddy needs this engine now!!!

It seems like everytime GM builds a car to compete with the Asians/Europeans they completley leapfrog over GM's best within a couple of months.

Notice how Lexus won't spec the 6MT in their IS350? The lower version can be had with the 6MT (I'm assuming it's the same Aisin 6MT that's in the CTS since Toyota uses it as well), but I guess 305HP is too much for the design. If I remember correctly the upper HP limit for the Aisin 6MT is 295HP.

I'm glad to hear it's direct injection. Put that Isuzu engineering to some use and save some money on development.

what about their 6spd auto(is350) with gear selector on the steering wheel? Any specs on those? is that a smg or an automatic?

According to Motor Trend article I read it offers multiple shift modes and can be manumatically controlled via the floor shifter or a set of Ferrari-like paddles on the steering wheel, or just shift itself. That extra cog gets it to 60 in 5.5 and the quarter in 14 flat at 99.8 mph. Thats quick for 3571 lbs and not a V8.
