Hi,
I am new to this forum. Can someone please tell me what the dimension is on a 70's 500 from the center of the motor mount (the half that is attached to the block) to the lowest point of the pan?
This information would be very much appreciated.
Thanks for your time,
Jim

I have one on the engine stand and can measure things but there is no pan on it and no motor mounts. You also need to specify to anyone else that might be able to help which oil pan you have Eldorado or Deville/Fleetwood.
What exactly do you mean by the center of the motor mount? Where the stud meets the mount maybe?

Hello here is a site with dimensions of popular engines, i'm not sure the measurement you asked for stands there, but it can be helpful for someother maybe.
The site : http://www.carnut.com/specs/engdim.html

The engine weights listed on that site are questionable. A 425 does not weigh as much as a 472 or 500. Who knows how far off the rest of the figures are.
This book has much better information + the cover photo has a guy pulling a small block chebbie out of his car and putting a Cadillac engine in!
