am i asking for trouble? i hear stories of cats blowing and a bunch of problems...

should i pick it up? no?

i want the nicest sound and the most hp increase.

however i dont want an ugly drone, you all know best i'm just a kid...guide me men of wisdom!

i noticed stealth has a bb on his, i look at his as the model to go by as he really knows his shit.

also when i called bb they told me to get the resenator and stya away from the xpipe...when i asked why they didnt really answer the question...

can someone here to that?

i was going to go with the magnaflow however i have read about problems with fittings...

eventually i'll get headers so i dont want any problems.

let me know, thanks!

do you have cones to minimize drone?

1MEANV....does the B&B with the x pipe drone on your car or not?

Nope

I have the B&B w/ the resonator & cones built in. Nice sound, great looks & not too loud. Only drone is when you lug the engine , like 50 mph in 6th gear. No regrets, F. X. Forgette

I just replaced my X pipe with the resonator section and couldn't be happier with the result. The drone from the x pipe was ridiculous, especially in the parking garage at work (to the point of embarrassing). It is much more docile now. I may have left a few ponies on the table by removing the x pipe, but for me it was well worth it.

My drones pretty bad when accelerating from 1500-2000 RPMs. It happens in any gear when going slow in those RPMs and then you accelerate. You just need to drive around it. I haven't installed my cones yet and will probably installed some sounds deadening in the trunk and maybe under the rear seat.
It sounds awesome but so does Flyboys Corsa and he has no drone at all.

if you don't want drone... and want it loud so that people outside of the car can hear it.. get a CORSA

I drove cars with both styles.

The X-pipe is more resonating, the resonator is more mild.

It, at least how I see it, depends on your tolerance and car usage, if you get into alot of traffic situations, and are carrying passengers, you will prolly want the res., if this is primarily a toy and you can do alot of open road driving, then the X-pipe will do.

the sound level with the X pipe is comparable or less than resonator....after sound deadening the trunk/rear seat. should you want the HP gain of the X but mute the sound a bit, search my posts for how I deadened things. Going to do the doors next, whenever wildwhl does his first

I just put the B&B w/ x-pipe on mine and it sounds cool. Little more noise in the cabin area. I believe the cones are now built in with the x-pipe option to reduce drone. At least that is what I had read. I'm going to dynamat the trunk area next just to reduce the cabin noise.

My 2 Cents. If You Dont Want Noise Leave The Stock Exhaust On

I have the B&B on my V, and have found the best cure for the drone is to keep the car at redline. You drone posters have obviously not read the addendums in the B&B literature.
Note:If you hear droning emanating from the exhaust, you are driving like a girl. Please check for testicles.

????? X-pipe = MORE drone?????

Some thing is seriously wrong if an X-pipe is introducing more noise. Placement of an x-pipe is caculated or tested but when working at its best should DRAMATICALLY reduce noise. Improperly placed or designed and they will become a resonant "chamber" not a crossover.

Richard
I'm sure you are correct, but I'm also pretty sure that the "resonator" is also an X pipe with additional sound deadening. That's why the X pipe is louder

to me, the X is louder across the sound spectrum....any percieved "drone" is louder as are all frequencies. I'll never go back to the res version, sounds like a$$ compared to my X.
