:stirpot: :bomb: my powersteering pressure line sprung a leak and my alternator bearings were bad, so i changed them both. I connected back up all the wires and started the car, then i turned it off. When i went to turn it back on there was absolutley no power. I mean not even the clock was on. I used a jump starter to juymp start my car and, it wants to turn over but just falls short. I ran a diagnostics on it, and the first time i ran it it said that the distributor was not getting a signal and the PCM needed resetting. The second time I put the charger on it it just said the PCM needed resetting. Does this mean the car won't turn on till the PCM is reset? What gives ?

P.S I saw this green plug like thing ,that is connected on to the same wire that the plug for the alernator is plugged in to, (not the power) But it appears it doesn't plug into anything. AM I wrong?

Okay. I know how this is going to sound, but bear with me....

There should have been (2) cables/connectors for the alternator. One is just a cable that connected to the back side of the alternator and sends power directly back to the battery. It will be HOT ALL THE TIME if the battery is connected, so watch out for shorting it!

The other is a rectangular multi-pin that, if placement is the same as mine, is situated on the lower part of the alternator facing the EVEN-SIDE bank of cylinders. (Rear bank on transverse...)

I don't have enough info to say anything else except check to make sure your ALT light comes on when you turn the ignition switch on.
If it doesn't work there may be a problem with the new alternator.... :hmm:
