My wife is a Mary Kay Sales Director and is getting her 12th Mary Kay Pink Cadillac mid this month (september)! A 2006 DTS! Thought you all might enjoy some pics. Can post pics of current MK 2004 Deville if you like. I will definately post pics when she gets it! I can also answer almost any question regarding Mary Kay Vehicles!

I remember hearing the regulations once that, when they are "retired", it is in a legal contract that they CANNOT be sold to the general public, neither can just the paint color code, and are automatically repainted (white, always, I think) before being re-sold.

This was based on a TV special I once saw that talked a lot about the whole Mary Kay industry and how it works--am I right with my facts mkcad?

Only Mary Kay Sales Directors can get the Pink Paint. The color is now based off of "White Lightning" with a slight hue of pink. under certain lights it looks really pink, and under others it looks white. All Sales Directors who qualify production wise previously got a standard Deville. Of coarse they now get a DTS and the company tells me it has the Luxury II package. As far as the 05 STS, the highest position in the company is that of National Sales Director. As an NSD you can choose any cadillac you want with any options except the Escalade and XLR. They even give you a spending allowance at the dealer for dealer added extras such as canopy tops, etc. Once the cars are turned back in they are immediately painted white before sent to auction. The current driver of the MK car has the option to purchase the car, but signs a contract that if the car is sold, you will have it painted white, but sometimes some slip through the cracks, it's not something the company really cracks down on.

You are correct. The paint cannot be ordered without the VIN number, and the cars are repainted when they are retired, before they go to the auction.

Mary Kay is one of the largest cosmetics companies in the world, that sells their products through sales consultants all over the place that they train. Then, as the sales #'s of each of those ladies rises, they have the chance to earn a car. I think, now I may need to be corrected on this, there are 3 steps of vehicles as you climb the ladder, rising from white and red Pontiacs to the top being a new Cadillac Deville painted in a Mary Kay-exclusive shade of pink that NO one else can just go to the dealer and order buy.

Being a male at 23 years old I have a feeling that I would be very good at selling Mary Kay to many a woman..... How much of that crap do I have to sell for them to give me a pink Cadillac?

Don't think that's the way it works...it's a female-ONLY business.

And if you were a woman, you not only have to sell a LOT of product, but have to work your way up the ladder to being a Sales Director, in charge of recruiting and training new sales ladies into the business--only then do you hit "Pink Caddy" level. It is NOT an easy thing, to say the least.

mkcad -Can you elaborate a little more on the Mary Kay system?

First of all there is a Career Ladder, and you do have to be a Sales Director to earn the use of a Cadillac, it is lots of work. There are men in the company, but they are few and far between...! To earn the use of a MK Caddy, you and your unit or team have to have combined $96,000 in wholesale production, that's $192,000 in retail sales totaled out between two consecutive fiscal calendar quarters. That's a lot of product when your highest item you sell is appx. $50 retail. So say Q1 from January - March you do $40,000 wholesale, then Q2 from April - June you do $56,000 wholesale, then you have won yourself a caddy! In the UK and parts of europe the Director's get Pink Mercedes! See attachment!

Yep, that sounds like what I remember. On the show I watched about Mary Kay, the first step was a Red Pontiac Grand Am, the second step was a White Pontiac Grand Prix, and then the third was the Deville.

On occasions at my job at the bank, a Mary Kay lady used to come in driving a White Grand Prix with Mary Kay labels on it....a car I always remember because she never cleaned the thing and it was always disgustingly dirty. :nono: Kind of a bad image for a lady like that, I thought, but I guess she was good enough to make it that far. The last time I saw it was about a year ago, then it disappeared and she started driving her own blue GMC Jimmy again.

The marykay perks are real nice- it takes work to get up there, and the recent change in the MK Pink (seen this personaly) the pearly pink - is as the unique color code has always been an eye catcher- the pics imo dont do it justice its realy nice- At the end of 2 years the MK rep gets the option to buy or they go out to be resold and indeed are always repainted.

If you really, and I mean really want to sell MK, you can - there is nothing stopping you, the company accepts men, there just aren't many!

The MK Sales Director that I got mine from said the #1 person in Canada is a GUY !!

She bought her car at the end of 2 years, and then sold it to me. It had very very low mileage & was like brand new. Sadly, it had no options....back then leather was an option (it's now standard) so ours had burgundy cloth interior. Rather than spending $1,000 on dealr junk, I'd rather have a sun roof.

Im interested in these, ive never seen one of the Mercedes in the picture, but the A and C classes are for those who cant afford a real one.

I thought that in Eerope they may get a Mercedes S class or a BMW 730 or something.

Wel i would imagine the lower people might get Toyotas and Fords, we dont get big Toyotas or Fords in Europe, the biggest ford is the Mondeo and the biggest Toyota is the Avensis

Congrats!!! They look very nice. I'm glad they change the pink they used to have, the color on these car are just amazing. Don't you fell good to have a color that not everyone can have?
Is the STS the same color? it looks lighter (White pearl)

I thought they must have been doing STS's too, after I passed one on the road about a month ago and did a double-take.

What's the different requirements between getting a DTS and getting a more expensive STS? Different sales levels?

The colors are definately the same--just showed up differently in those pics.

I think he said that when you get to NSD (National Sales Director) you can get any cadillac you want but the Escalade or the XLR.
Monthly payments for a NSD it's from $40,000 to $100,000 (YES! MONTHLY)
