255/40R18 Front
275/35R18 Rear

Did anybody try this combination on the stock rims yet?
Diameter wise it should be close enough.
But how about rubbing.

there are guys with 295s in the rear... 275 should be cake walk for the rears..

I'm running 255/45/18s at all four corners... the diameter with my set up is 1.3% larger than stock where as 255/40/18 are 2.4% smaller... I am sacrificing "slower" readings for a little more meat... I love it... btw.. no rubbing at all.

also should fill out the wheelwells some. How does it handle - notice any difference?

Silver, that combo wont rub on stock rims.
But it may look funny... front's are almost 1/2" larger diameter than rears, which will be noticable.

275-40s are much closer to the stock hight than 275-35s. tires.com has a size calculator that shows the differences vs stock size.
I have not seen it in person, but meats out back fits the Vs personality IMO and I will be going with a similar setup when I get new tires.

I have 255/45/18's all around on my V right now. Only got to drive it for one day with that combo before she went in for the marathon of all dealer visits.

Has anyone run 265's yet? A friend of mine just got them for the front of his vette. I think they would work great all around. :stirpot:

not 265, but 275 won't work up front.

if after reading that you'd care to try 265s, feel free

Apparently you can go with 19 x 9 rims and 265/35/19 rubber all around (without suspension mods). Mallett offers this as one of their packages.

That fitment is probably what I'll go with. I'm still researching what competition rubber is available in that size. That availability may be the deciding factor over size. After that is resolved, I'll take careful measurements and determine if there's any room for lowering.

Dreamin already did answer you. They will fit and won't rub, but will look bad.

Tal: As I said, these sizes will work, but it's a funky setup... I'm pretty sure Silver asked because the Falken 615's come in this size.

For another tire, you'd have more option, i.e. the "proven" 245/45 & 275/40.

FWIW, the BFG KD does not come in 255/40 and 275/35
