Today I was driving my car and the turn signals went out the brake lights, hazard lights, headlights high and low beam...all of these went out. I still have interior lights and turn corner lights....please someone comment if you might have any helpful info on what this might be. Oh no tail lights at all, not just the brake lights out. eldorado 1994 need to get this fixed asap for long trip. I like to have some info before going to mechanic because being female I feel like some mechanics take advantage of us. sorry to all honest mechanics. thank you

I'm looking at my 1995 service manual and I'm pretty sure my wiring is the same as yours.
The loss of turn signals, brake lights, and hazard lights are the typical symptoms of a bad turn signal switch. Things change, however, when you throw in the headlamps.
As you know, the hi/lo beams are operated via the turn signal lever, however I believe the hi/lo switch is a separate fellow, making it unlikely that the turn signal unit would account for both of your problems.
Further, the headlamps and turn signal/brake lights/flasher are serviced by different fuses. They DO, however, share one thing in common: connector C202. It is located "below the left hand side of instrument panel, left of steering column."
Here is a photo of its location:

It's just a (very) wild guess, but maybe . . . . it's come loose?

Warren

Thanks for the info. I take my car in for diagnostic testing in the morning. Does anyone know for sure on a 1994 eldorado if the headlights and the turn signal are on the same switch???? My bright lights are on the turn signal arm but my regular headlights are a knob on the dash...Thanks:bouncy:

Ok I take back what I said about mechanics talking advantage of females (but some of them really do) anyway, my problem was a faulty wire under the hood. I had to pay the diagnostic but to fix the problem it was only 20.00. It did take them 2hrs to find it but I am so relieved nothing major. Thanks for info.

Excellent! That must be a record for least expensive shop repairs.
