I wanna get a labret piercing, that spot below your bottom lip above your chin. Here's some pics of me doing it with my earring. It's not for everyone, but for a cat like me, I can't decide.

Haha because it's cool now. It may not be in a few years but hey, piercings will close after a while if I should change my mind. It's not harmful in anyway, I know a very clean respectable place that will do it but really I think it looks cool.

From a 50-year old's perspective, piercings and meaningless tattoos are stupid.

Bell bottoms and long hair is about as "cool" as I ever got. Nothing permanent that I would regret later.

MIGHT BE COOL NOW, BUT TRUST ME... NOT ALL PIERCINGS CLOSE UP...
ESPECIALLY THE NEW ONES WITH THE SURGICAL STEEL POSTS THEY PUT IN.
YOU'LL BE OLD WITH A HOLE IN YOUR LIP... :bonkers: :thepan:

Hey my buddy had one and he said the only thing you gotta watch for with those is you can damage the enamel (sp?) on the front of your bottom teeth if your not careful. He wore a spike though and not a ring. It looked pretty cool plus it will heal up nice if you take it out unlike some of the old eye brow peircings ive seen.

I was in the Marines. Never had it done even though I was in some interesting places in lovely Far East Asia. We're a close group with or without the decorations.
I wouldn't want to be in a fight wearing metal through my skin. Especially in the head.

Dopestar, I say if you really want it then consider the effects of having it. If the pros outweigh the cons then go for it. I wouldn't get it done myself but that's my opinion. I don't think I would look right with any piercings. But if you want it and think it looks good, then have at it friend.

LOL! Thanks B, that was the response I was looking for. Labret piercings close easily I hear as long as you don't stretch them too far which I don't intend to do. Even if it is permenant I now have a cool way to squirt water from my face.

Have you seen all the metal I wear daily? I'm covered in jewelry and my pants usually have a bunch of D loops on them and chains. One of the funniest sights is watching me go through airport security.

Sure, you may think it's cool and all ~ but think about work. Whose gonna hire you? Okay, back room warehouse, maybe. But is that what you really want? Sales? Forget about it. Office with contact to the outside world? Forget about that, too. Health or service industry? Never happen!! Food Handler? Well, not sure, but definately NOT in New Jersey !
Just about the only thing I can think of; would be in a band ... a rock band (or a bouncer at the club the rock band is playing at...)

While looking quite innocent, he can harm you.Don't get too close to the DopeStar. He spits at you through an opening in the lower facial region. :histeric:

I'm not disargeeing with you Sandy. You raise some interesting points there, but like I said when it comes time to get a job and crap like that I can just take it out, maybe grow some facial hair over it so it's hidden. I'm still on the fence about it, even though B and a few other female friends of mine gave me quite a push towards "yes."

man Sandy took the words right out of my mouth. Dope, you gotta think about your future (and not with your dick either). there is a guy here at the hospital who works in enivornmental services. he had a nursing degree but he let it run out. no one would hire him cause he has peircings and tattoes. he is a great guy and fun to talk with, wouldnt hurt a fly. but sadly people judge. dont go on what some bitch says either. they just setting you up to fall. this is the real world now, not that sheltered high school life listening to a bunch of whiney little rich kids on the radio who complain and bitch cause daddy wouldnt let them party with their friends saturday night. growing a mustache over it isnt much help either, some people judge people by facial hair. hell were i work it isnt allowed! so please, think about things like that before you do it. dont end up like my buddy who has two kids and can hardly support them cause of a few mistakes he made when he was our age. we only say this cause we care about you.

Piercings definitely affect getting hired but like he said, he isn't ready to get a job yet. Also, since it is NOT perminant he can ALWAYS take it out for an interview, and see what the policy/dresscode is for the place, and then deicde to keep it or to let it close up....I have friends that used to have it and let it close up, it doesn't leave much of a mark.

And I agree on the "don't do it cuz some some broad told you to" thing. I think it's great to ask peoples opinions but don't only do it because of what OTHER people said. If you want to get it for yourself, GO FOR IT!!!!

'Ya,I meet D.S. at a car show. Let me tell you, he's a more than decent kid. Okay, he IS a kid, don't get me wrong, he's not 40 ! Well, not even 30! But he is a good guy, and I was just thinking about his future. My kid is on the fast track to becoming a millionaire, only because he listened to me, and I put plywood for him, over the holes in life, that I fell into. He's a Senior in college and needs no interviews, the companies are chasing him! He just signed a contract to begin work in September after next June's graduation. $60,000 to start, age 22 he'll be.
It's very very tough out there in $$$--land. 'Ya want nice things, house, car, entertainment, etc, etc? It takes MUCHO dinero!
D.S. start thinking about it. You come from a nice home/area. Sadly, our Moms & Dads do not come with a lifetime warrantee. :banghead: I made my share of errors, not booze or drugs and crap like that, just life choices, like wanting to sell cars, instead of becoming a lawyer, like my dad told me to do. So, instead of giving the siht I spent 28 years taking the siht!
God gave you a healthy beautiful body. Respect it. It's only lent to you for a while, in the history of time. Take care of it. Millions of the deformed would honor - would nearly die to have what you got.
My Best ~

yes but eventually he will need a job and that bloody scab or hole on his face is going to give it away. trust me, interviewers look for these things. it doesnt matter how qualified you are for a job, your tackle box looking face can screw it over big time. im sorry B, thats just reality. if he wants to do it, thats fine, im just telling him he should be thinking about his future and this could possibly hurt it. my brother just got a tattoo on his forearm and the place he works at is now demanding he cover it with a long sleeve shirt or not to return to work. no it isnt fair and i hate that for him. i warned him, he didnt listen and now he has to suffer (well in the winter it wont be so bad) for it. stupidity reigns supreme i guess.

I would like to add to this again, i have tattoos. I have a Celtic arm band on my upper left arm and my kids names and years of birth on my upper back, they are out of sight unless i am not wearing a shirt, but i like to keep them hidden, im by no emans ashamed of them, they are, IMO beautiful pieces of art, and they bear my childrens names, and my heritage, but i would not do anything that i couldnt hide easily.

If you get your lip pierced, and you removed it, and it healed, and even left a scar, an employer could not pass judgement on that without first obtaining the reason why its there. My brother (hes really in law, but hes like a brother) has a small circular scar on his lower lip, just below the point of a piercing from an accident as a child, and it looks very similar to how a piercing would, he has no problems with this.

my lil brother has his on his right forearm. its a heart with angel wings coming out of it and it has his daughter's initials. beautiful tattoo but they said he had to cover it. made him mad but he needs a job you know? the peircing, how long are we talking before it is completely healed? DS is going to need to get a job soon im sure (well guessing that is) so if he got it done tommorrow and something happened where he needed a job then what? i dont mean to come off telling you what to do dope, and am sorry if i am, im just looking out for your interests future wise. and im not saying you are going to be judged because of it either, im just telling you what has happened to people i know. the real world frowns on things like that and i dont want you to get screwed later in life (that came out wrong).

Yeah I agree with what everyone is saying. When I worked at Fazoli's we couldn't have facial hair, piercings, and tattoos. So keep that in mind when making this decision. If that's not a concern right now then go for it but if it is(69 SDV):D then hold off on getting the piercing.

Well I want it. Not other people want it for me. I think it's very suiting to me but at the same time Sandy is in no way wrong. I definately took his words very seriously. Sandy is truly a wise man. I'm still only 19 and have two more years before I have to enter the work force and I'm not even sure what I want to do after school. I've decided that I need to give it more thought than I was prepared to do. I was inending to do it this weekend but I'll put it off for a while so I can think about it some more.

Excellent choice...my latest (second) tattoo which I got a few weeks ago, it took me four years to finally decide I wanted it...its small, and on my finger, but a ring covers it almost entirely, and if I need it TOTALLY covered, a band aid "tough strips" covers it up.

Thanks, D.S. for the compliment. However, I am not all that wise. Here's what happens: When a male is under 27 years, his heart rules! I WANT that car! I WANT to have sex with as many chicks as I can. I WANT tatoos & Piercings. I WANT a drag race. Your car is siht, I can beat that crap car. I WANT this and I WANT that and F-U, and and and.....

Around age 27, things begin to change. The BRAIN begins to rule! .Perhaps one parent dies, reality sets in. "Prices" have to be paid, for prior errors, of wrong paths chosen have to be fixed. Looking back....it's all so clear, why wasn't it clear, from back there........looking forward ? Ever hear the phrase, "Youth is wasted on the young" ?

If you want it so so so badly, that you cannot enjoy life without it, then go get it. But really really consider the pros VS the cons....

You are a bright kid. Don't close future doors. Unless Mom & Dad have 2 million in the bank, or a very lucrative business, you're gonna have to work.
When you work for someone, they own your body & soul for 10 hours a day, you must please THEM. They look at you as a moving machine that makes them money. IF they don't like the looks of the machine, they don't hire you !
Buy some lottery tickets, and pray, like the rest of us.

My son has a friend in college. The friend loves college ! He is making a 4 year education into a 6 or 7 year deal. I think he takes 3 courses a semester! I met him. He is a very nice person, very sweet for a guy & very proper. Everyone is nice to him, and everyone wishes they were him. His folks are billionaires, they have 2 homes, each valued at 4 million. My son's friend does not live on campus, but lives very nearby in a luxry condo bought for him to live in while in college, by his parents. For his 18th birthday he got a new Mercedes Benz S500 AMG-55 roadster (NEW). Three interior decorators combined to do his condo. They vacation on the Swiss Alps, or in their Conda in Acapulco. My Son was in their house. They have butlers & maids, two pools (outside & inside) and the house has 33 rooms. The garage holds 6 cars. The kitchen is the size of a large banquet hall's kitchen. For the holiday's my son's friend got a Tag Haurer men's diamond watch.

He doesn't need to worry about his future. The business awaits him. Pepole like this don't have to worry about earnings, savings, employment or careers.

They are few & far between. The rest of us have to live normal lives.

Don't know how to say this without sounding a little severe, but...

So... you want to be "unique" just like everyone else with a tatoo or piercing!

Do what you think you must, but realise that there are people that WILL judge you by appearances, not by who you are. It's a fact, & something you'll come to realise with time/experience.

And another thing: Booty is nice & all, but I have to ask; do you really want to be involved IN ANY WAY with a woman that will bed you JUST BECAUSE you have a piercing? The term "SHALLOW" immediately pops to mind here!

Please, don't let Little Willy do the thinking for you about something you'll likely have to live with for the next 50 or more years!

USE YOUR HEAD FOR MORE THAN A FASHON STATEMENT!
