I still need to have the fuel preasure checked but it just occured to me being the car has 110,000 miles on it could it need an induction service to clean the egr vavles and stuff? I cleaned my own throttle body a few months back but I would think an induction service would be alot more through. I am not getting any "service engine soon" lights or trouble codes thanks for any input I'll report back with fuel preasure check results probably tomorow.
Did you clean out the EGR tubes in the TB?

Yes ranger with a wire coathanger and carb cleaner I also scrubed it until it was shinny like a mirror. I think my dying fuel pump may be culprit here the reason I say this is because if it were my egr vavles or something of this nautre woulden't I get a "service engine soon light" or trouble codes? I mean this car just turned 110,000 miles so a bit of rough idleing may be normal maybe?

i got 143,000 miles and a glass smooth idle ....
if you cleaned the egr tubes then you dont need the 140 dollar induction service , its alot of snake oil that cleans stuff that stays clean LOL
lets see this fuel pressure issue and go from there

Has it had a recent tune-up? I replaced all my tune-up stuff and it still had a little sputter at idle. I replaced the spark plug wires with factory ones and it was perfect. First time I have ever seen that. It also may be injector thing. After every PFI 4.5 and 4.9 I have had, having injector problems I almost recommend starting on them before going further.

Youbetcha77 I've had a complete tune up done in april it has has all the tune up stuff replaced the wire plugs, cap and rotor. The wires are factory ac delco wires and the plugs are platnium. When you mention the injectors are you referring to the engines fuel injuectors?

My bet is Camshaft Sensor
