I searched, but I don't think anyone has reported the problem exactly like this;
It seems like it happens when the engine is warm, and it only happens occasionally. I crank the starter and the engine starts, then stalls. Sometimes it starts on the second try, sometimes it takes 3 tries to get it running. It never stalls once it starts and runs for a little while. It never stalls when driving.
There are no codes. I run premium. The car has 70K so I replaced the plugs with new, gapped AC platinums. The plugs did not look bad, but oh well.
I pulled the vacumn hose from the FPR. No fuel came out but I could smell fuel if I got real close to it.
Anyone have a suggestion? Bad FPR? Your help is appreciated.
PS: It looks like I have the plastic fuel line sections between the injectors. I wouldn't call it a fuel rail, not like my TurboCoupe that has a one-piece solid metal line that tee'd to each injector. Were the '99s recalled for this?
