Hello Boys: Do the boys know of any sneaky places these units lose coolant from that might hide from the tech shop and pressure test it just had, to no avail. The heater core just replaced, seems ok, still smell and taste of coolant in cabin and occasional whiff from outside in engine compartment. Added one and one half quarts today. Wish to take a crack at it myself before I so ungracefully bend over to the vagaries of the evil dealership. YOU boys know better that the dealer. C'mon boys, this stuff is killing me, one of your STS comrades.
Thanks for any tip in advance.

On the outside chance a head gasket is starting to leak have a combustion leak test done. I know it is a long shot at this point but it could save you a lot of time if that is the real problem and it shouldn't be very expensive.
If a head gasket is just starting to leak it may pass a pressure test (which is low pressure) and still leak under high combustion pressure and heat.

Here's a link to explain the test: http://www.tpub.com/content/construction/14264/css/14264_227.htm

I'm not endorsing these guys, just found the link now and here's a kit if you want to do yourself or so you know how simple it is.
