Maybe someone's run across this one...I hope.

I get an intermittent whistling noise that seems to be in the dash, though it could be in the engine compartment and just drowned out when I listen there.

It doesn't seem to happen until the car's warmed up, and it is definitely related to the brakes. Any change in the brake pedal - letting up or pushing down - stops the noise. For a few seconds or minutes. Then it starts up again. It's really annoying and I've never encountered anything like it.

:hmm:

Check the vacum above the E brake. This problem happens to me when I put the car in gear and not too much when I have in in park. I would suggest you do not apply the ebrake until then because one time it got stuck on me but was able to get it back down. Its 2 small screws one above and one below to change but a pain cause you have to find a way to get your head up there to see the screws since they are 5/16 or 1/4 in size.

And Yes VERY ANNOYING Cause of the noise.

Its prolly the vacum line above e brake. It tends to happen when the car is in gear and not when in park or neutral.

Thanks! I assume you mean above the ebrake pedal, right? I'll start tunneling my way up there. If I'm not back in a week, send a St. Bernard...
