Posts are getting lost and not showing up, the latest poster and time is not getting updated, edits don't take, strange windows show up after posting citing errors. In short, you need to check with Mr. Hogan and see if you can get some help from his goat.

I wonder the cause.....hackers?........virus or worms?.........hardware glitches?.......
Could the pimply faced trolls from a few days ago have something to do with the current server distress?
Sal was haveing some trouble as indicated by his plea for added membership support. I hope all gets smoothed out.

Yeah...they are which is cool. I have also notice that between the time I left for class (1:00 pm) and the first post I made tonight (7:55pm) that something has gone wrong. I just went to reply to two post (one was my own) and it woudl bring up this white error screen after I hit the Submit button. Then if I hit back, and Submit again, it would tell me it was a duplicate post, and would direct me to that thread. It's seems to be recording the added posts, but like dkozloski said, not actually updating the main page, so you can't even tell. :bonkers:

I keep getting a Database Error Screen.

Yeah, I am getting the message about there being a problem every time I post, also it is showing that threads have 0 replies when in fact they have some. Very confusing.

Looks like there are multiple posts, too. Either that or they appear multiple times when you hit New Posts.

Something's goofy....

Yup. Some of my posts aren't showing up unless I actually examine the thread that I posted in. And the white error screen shows up every time I post, which is why I haven't been posting lately...Even when I submit this post, I expect the error message to pop up.

As for the error screen, I just hit refresh so that I do not double post because I discovered that my post has already been submitted, which is why some people have the double posts: they backspace and hit 'reply' again instead of refreshing the page.

The six little dorks may be the cause, because ever since that night, this site has been erroneous. Or mayber it's just me...

Sal, if you catch this thread, do you know what software the server is running on? I kinda hope it's Unix based...

That's EXACTLY how I'm posting and it seems to work, but a three step process.

I wonder if it was those little Trolls!!

It has been doing strange things for over a week but not on a consistant basis. I noticed quite a while ago that it wasn't updating the cover page with the correct "latest poster" and number of replies to a thread every time.

I'm also wondering if everything we post right now will be lost when it's repaired? Much like those unfortunate enough to post in the few hours the new server was being introduced, they were lost.....

I won't be typing any huge ones just in case. :suspense:

Hm. That's a good question. I hope not. Not really for the sake of myself, but for the people who it would affect (i.e. those who asked a question, got it answered, and won't get to see it)

Not sure if it's worth mentioning, but it seems that this is not the only forum that's been having problems. Anyone who belongs to Bruce's CaddyInfo forum might remember a week or so ago, when the various servers that run his forum were repeatedly crashing. This caused soem big problems, including the temporary loss of the entire forum database. His regular site would load, but the forum was practicaly non-existent for almost a week. I hope this isn't becoming an epidemic throughout the various online forums. That's the last thing anyone needs. I'm sure that once Sal get's everything together down there, and has a chance to review what's been going on, he'll have it straightened out in no time.
